I recently popped in my GT4, to take a break from GT5 and compare. Someone mentioned there is a choice between "Easy" physics and other options? I had forgotten that and I can't find this option anywhere, where is it?

Also, I'm not able to find options for other driving aids, other than under the tuning settings for the individual cars. Can driving aids be set to apply to all races?

Unfortunately, you have to reset drivers' aids every time you get a new car. As for "Easy" physics, AFAIK, there is only one physics setting - perpetual understeer.

Nope physics are the same. Only the difficulty (i.e. faster opponent cars) can be set in Arcade mode, Family Cup and on Special Conditions.

GT Mode -> Home -> Options -> Steering allows you to set amateur mode, professional, or simulation mode.

I just did the same, popped back in to GT4 to compare. I hadn't played it in years, but I had put countless hours into it and every other GT game.

I took me a while just to find the transmission automatic/manual setting (Options/General/Race). In Options/Arcade Mode/Arcade, you can change driving aids settings, but obviously only for Arcade races.

After coming straight from GT5, GT4 is hard to control. I've always used a controller, but I don't remember the steering being so awful in GT4. Using the left analog stick, the car's wheels don't return to center nearly quickly enough. If I let the stick 'spring' back to center, the car keeps turning for what seems like up to a full second. Trying to force the 'wheel' back the other way, I end up over-correcting, with the car weaving all over the track. Has anyone else noticed this, and is there a fix or adjustment to make? My apologies if it's already been covered elsewhere, I searched but didn't find it.

No wonder I'm having such a better time on the Nordschleife in GT5!
