I find racing in a straight line even more mind-numbing than doing it around an oval. I know drag racing has plenty of fans and many with arguments queued up to defend it, but I don't give a bucket of farts. If they pinched off a loaf of drag racing, that's great for the players begging for it, but I personally just don't want it and if I was somehow magically in a position to choose whether PD devotes resources to drag racing or working on other stuff, you wouldn't get drag racing.
Gymkhana is even worse with me. I find drag boring but loathe Gymkhana with a flaming passion.

"But Gymkhana requires great skill to...!" Tell it to someone who cares. One can argue that it's a great challenge to shove fifty bottle rockets into their hind end all at once and light them simultaneously, but that doesn't make it any more sophisticated. I just see a bunch of yobbos doing donuts in a parking lot with their pants down and slapping bare buttocks hanging out the window while hollering whooping noises.
Gymkhana is the sole reason that I liked DiRT 3 least of the DiRT games thus far. It would have been fine in its own side mode, but it wasn't off by itself. It was worked into the main career. Sure, I was usually able to skip most of the yobbo events, but not all of them. DiRT 3 would've been so much better with it on the side or excluded entirely.
If we see drag and Lamekhana in GT6, it better be in some side mode. If it's in A-Spec, GT6 loses points.

I have to say I only find drifting exciting when it is a means to be the fastest over a course.

Not a fan of drag racing but I wouldn't mind having it.

Gymkhana was stupid gt4. I hated that.

I didn't like the track in GT4 as well. But it was challenging as ever. Took a lot of skill to drive on that track.
