yours actually did it for me in PMC atlop. 👍 On the 2.0 side, it was definitely moglet. I love when I get blanked. It wakes me up.

Congrats atlop.

What can I conclude with this experience?

First of all, thank you everyone who entered in both competitions. 13 entries is a real good number of entries these days.

For the experience conducted by me and Swiss (well, Swiss doesn’t really know about this), this was just a test I wanted to do, about how Photoshop (when well applied) can really grab some votes from people (and to shock a little the Photomode community in doing something never done before).

Even though the votes where more and less uniform throughout both competitions, it is clear where Photoshop helped or not.

In terms of photograph, atlop’s picture seems to be the most rounded of both parts, acquiring 6 votes in this poll and 5 on the 2.0 poll, winning this one and coming in second in the 2.0.👍

But even though Photoshop may help you grab one vote or two, the discrepancy of votes was not too big, so the composition has a big count in all of this.

For my last note, people can expect more of this kind of interactions between the different competitions, not part of a crazy experiment :D , but has a big and maybe fresh way of evolving the community and the interaction in between competitions, making them more alive, and somewhat different.

Thank you all 👍

I see what you did there...

Lol, indeed. The Nissan Calsonic photoshop didn't do much good to it. The aura was completely off the realist theme.

I bet you don't say Photoshop made a huge difference in my entries :P

Well, each case is a case, but the overall result was that Photoshop can really attract one or two more votes, as well as it can throw away votes. Quite frankly, I knew Photoshop or in better words editing a bit further the images (not exaggerating it) and having a photo that could grab peoples "eye", could really help obtaining more votes but, I was expecting that the votes would be more and less the same, and that the winner from the PMC would win the 2.0 (this based on the photo itself), so the results were not really the ones I expected.

And to tell you further the truth, although the 2.0 didn’t got those “uber clean shots Photoshoped to the limit”, I felt that the quality bar of the entries was quite high, and I quite enjoyed that, everyone seem to had a special attention to the composition of the overall image.

thing is, real shots aren't ultra clean and smooth all the time. sometimes, they are taken with a cellphone camera as a supercar passes by. other times, the camera can't pick up every detail. so those minor imperfections only made it more real in some shots, for me.

Or if I'm photographing it, there's no car at all, just a blank track.

That was incidentally my original idea for the photo, but figured comedy wouldn't get any votes here

Thank you for all the votes guys! :) This PMC/2.0 theme was a great idea, I hope there would be something like this in future. Maybe Un-edited/PMC/2.0 week?

Congrats atlop, a well deserved win with that beautiful shot. 👍

This was a great idea and I would like to see it happen again. Funny to see the difference in my shots, I think my 2.0 shot turned out good. Mainly because I could clean up the horribly textured hood. Didn't seem to make much difference with the votes though. :D
I enjoy the editing process too, trying to make the image look a lot better than the original. Should try and get better results from GT though.
