I am using a Nikon D80, and I cannot get passed shutter speeds of 1/200 using the onboard flash as the commander. So now I had a thought and a question, if I buy a couple of pocket wizards, can I enable the Auto FP and mount the PW on the hot shoe and go faster than 1/200?


So heres my idea on more time. I mount the PW and enable Auto FP in the D80 settings, is it possible this works?

What flash units are you using? Couldn't a single flash sync cable do the job?

Is it a built-in flash? Using what as an external? Studio lights? Any decent hotshoe flash should be able to do high-speed sync, and also command external flashes. I'm not familiar with Nikon, but my Canon 580EX II will do HSS at 1/8000 for fill flash.
