I've been thinking about this for a day or two and I came up with a modified version of the system earlier discussed in the suggestion box.
Boom, you got a point with your remark about this being a series for racers to jump in and out of. Therefore only the last 5 races will be accounted for in the standings. This gives new racers opportunity to quickly advance the ranking to their skill-level. Also this encourages drivers to participate because if they don't they will be given a 0-score that will follow them for 5 weeks and make their total score drop.
Scores calculated as follows:
All times compared (pro-am-beg). Best time gets 100 points and after that 100 is divided with the number of participating racers. ex. 17 racers - the slowest time gets 100*1/17 points, the 5:th fastest time gets 100*13/17 points and so on.. the points-scale will be different in every race.
Class scores: 1st 20 points, 2:nd 10 points, 3:rd 5 points
this gives a max score of 120 points in each race and max 600 overall.
In the following two posts you can see how it will look, results from race 16 and the total standings..
I think a ranking like this can make this weekly-race series more fun, or what do you guys think? If you like this idea and want me to continue with this then please let me know, (let me know otherwise also )
