With the addition of classic le man which track is your favorite and which track is best.

Disclaimer - let me know if i missed a track.

You could add Rouen Les Essarts - personally I would classify it as a classic track. There is no current version as the track closed. It hosted the French Grand Prix on and off until 1968 and opened in 1950 so it is ideal for the Lotus 25 and 49 historic F1 cars. It was one of Juan Fangio's favourite ciruits. It is also great fun at night because of the closeness of posts etc to the track - great with the 1952 Merc 300 SL and 1959 Aston DBR1/300. Short version best with historic saloons, long version best with Lotus 49.

I haven't voted yet as I haven't had time to learn the Vintage Le Mans circuit, but loving that so far - SMS have done a great job.

To date my favourite has been Silverstone Classic - it always produces good, close online races and works well with older cars of all types and also as a substitute for ast flowing tracks not currently in the game.

Historic Spa I find is best with fog and rain, which is realistic, but also hides some of the graphical deficiencies with this circuit. I expected to dislike this circuit, but my in game stats show the highest mileages at Silverstone Classic, Spa Historic and Bannochbrae - a circuit with a classic feel. I would love a classic version of that - without the modern signage and also a reverse layout.

Uffff... Some good stuff here :cheers:
I was between spa historic and vintage le mans.
Finally my vote goes to vintage le mans because SMS did a great job recreating it and I really appreciate it being an endurance fan.

Really like all the classic tracks of pcars 2,they are legends of motorsports.

Would like to see the Montjuïc track of the 80's an urban track in the hills of Barcelona, Spain emulating Emerson Fitipaldi

Hopefully they bring more classic tracks, prefer those instead fictional tracks :D

Notice how all of them except Silverstone are mainly long flat out sections? Sign of the times right?

Before there was a worry about silly things like safety...

Seriously though, it amazes me how dangerous it was for drivers (and spectators) in those days. These tracks are just amazing, and getting to explore them from the safety of my living room is a pure adrenaline rush, especially when you consider how it must've felt to do the real thing!

As for the poll, I cannot choose! I'm partial to Spa though I am not very familiar with the historic layout yet, and I'm loving the detail put into historic Le Mans.

It's hard to pick one over the other. They all seem more or less equally impressive in terms of research and effort.

My dad always talked about his motorsports memories from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Some 15 years ago me and my family was on holiday in France and randomly checked into a hotel in Rouen. He enthusiastically told me that there used to be a track there used for racing, which I didn't know at the time and had no idea how to picture it in my head. We could barely watch F1 races from Spa or Monza without him talking about how the tracks used to be entirely different, and he never wasted an opportunity to share wisdom about Le Mans during the 1967 - 1971 period. Unfortunately he didn't live long enough to see PC2. This game is making it much easier for me to relate to all his vintage motorsport stories, and I keep wondering how he would approve the work SMS has done here.

Indeed this is a tough vote. All of the above is not an option. So today I voted for the 'new' LeMans vintage.
But Spa Classic has also stolen my heart. And not talk about Rouen Les Essarts. The track were I hit the haystack the most...
And did I already mention the great rumble banking of Classic Monza? Hockenheim classic is undervalued in general but is a great track!
Also for test driving classic cars.
Classic Silverstone but then on AC.

Maybe tomorrow I would choose otherwise?!

Rouen Les Essarts. A good mix of flat out scary sections* and more technical twisty bits. Although I prefer the shorter version since it's got more of those twisty bits. :)

* The downhill "should I brake or just ease off the throttle" first section is an eye opener to how they used to race!

I have learned so much about these classic tracks thanks to Project Cars 2 (and somewhat from other games). I knew about Rouen Les Essarts thanks to NFS Shift 2, but I had no idea about historic Spa. I can't believe I've always known and loved the modern version without even knowing there was a much larger original.

I've only really known about Le Mans since GT5 so I surely didn't know much/anything about historic versions. Only in recent years did I even realize the Mulsanne chicanes were a fairly modern addition. When I would see people driving the no chicanes version I would sometimes think, "c'mon drive the real deal rather than this fake super straight." Little did I know it was once very real, and even so with the Group C cars featured in GT5.

I knew Silverstone classic also thanks to NFS Shift 2, and I had some general knowledge of Monza but only a limited amount. Hockenheim is a bit of an outlier for me. Unlike the other classics, I was actually alive while it was around and I remember (however vaguely) watching F1 races there on TV - I actually remember more playing F1 96/97 on PS1 there and being amazed by the size of it. NFS Shift 2 helped too, with an early historic version that really puts you on edge running through the forrest. I'm still very disappointed with the way Hockenheim was cut down, and specifically how the original layout was completely torn up rather than being kept around at least for historic races.

It's interesting how the version of a track you first learn about can color your perception of the track as a whole. With Spa, I learned the modern version first and came to love it, and am only now discovering the historic version. With Hockenheim, I grew up with the "original" modern, and now I have no sense of identity or purpose with the current disaster.

Brands Hatch. Since they removed the Dingle Dell chicane in 2002, the modern circuit is now extremely similar to the 1976 version and even the 76 layout is hardly different from when the first GP circuit was laid out in 1960.

As for the poll however, I went for Spa.

Yes - the layout of Brands has hardly changed, which is part of its great charm. The Graham Hill / Graham Hill Bend was reprofiled in recent years and the older version gave a better flow. I would love to have a historic version for the feel and look of the place. I have been visiting Brands since the 1960's and now go to as many classic events there as possible - recently I went to the FIA Masters Historic F1 (3 litre F1 cars) and will also be going to the "Legends of Brands Superprix" (1.5 litre F1 and 90's Touring Cars) as well as the AMOC meeting and American Speedfest (this weekend).

Here's Brands in 1960 - I presume Stirling Moss drove this camera car just after the GP circuit had opened to create a publicity / promotional film.

Anyone interested in racing on classic circuits with clean, fast and slow drivers I have two upcoming series which may be of interest: starting Monday 25th June 10 rounds inspired by the 1967 International Championship for Sports Prototypes and starting Wednesday 27th June the 1970 edition.

Does the Nürburgring-Nordschleife qualify as a classic track? I don‘t think the layout has changed much since the 60s – they just rebuild the Südschleife into the modern GP circuit.

I love Hockenheim personally , honestly I wish that layout still existed.. I flew over Hockenheim coming back from Germany last year and you can still see the classic layout.

Other than that I enjoy Le Mans and Spa.

Kinda wish they would bring in the 90's/00's Silverstone, that would be sweet.

I agree. Would loveto see the sudscheife. It's hard to even find any footage of it on the interweb
