Interested to know, as I have now built a few of them, and usually it would have been cheaper to buy something from a store :scared: but not as fun of course!!

I'm after the total bill, so from start to the point you used it first time 👍 Make a listing if you want / remember, would be interesting to see also.

My first DIY rig (the white you saw on my other thread possibly) cost me about 100€ in total, and it was too much for it. Did it's job reasonably well anyway so I used it over 8 years.

NOTE: seat exluded! OR include it you feel it was part of the DIY "project" 👍, let's not be too serious with this :P

Excluding the seat, and the large TT the whole thing was build from "junk" lying around the shed. It cost me just about 80€ total.

EDIT: Without the seat it was more like 20€ ... can I change my vote? ;-)

Ah might be good to exlude the seat, yes 👍 It will often blow the expenses up the sky.

I'll add that to the OP.

My DIY costed me nothing because i had all the wood, screws already (i always have a little stock at home to buit things)

If i would have bought it, it would be around 50-80€

Seat excluded or i would be in the last category (fia approved)

Before it was built-in in an a shelve

And now i have bought one

Zilch. I built the stand out of leftover wood from when we built our back deck, and I built the chair out of two different kind of chairs rescued from the trash (I also have the front bucket out of a VW Rabbit that I can install to the swivel portion, which was also gratis). The desk and TV were both gifts. The only thing that cost any money was the wheel itself, and even that only cost $70.

This first setup cost about $25 US.

This current setup cost me a new seat, which I had actually bought for my boat, $45 US

I don't remember off hand but it was between $80 - $90.

Seat, gauges, lights, G25, speakers & sub, keyboard & mouse as well as LCD were all extra. You can add around $1350 to that for these accessories...and I'm not done....

I will work out my price list when it is all done... you never know what last minute mod may come up. Actually I might be scared to death with the total price :P

mine excluding seat was 120 Aussie dollars so about 140 US

First Rig = $60USD. This rig was ok. Quite solid and reasonably comfortable. It could collapse but set up took a bit of time and being made of MDF was quite heavy.

Second: Ikea chair attachment = $20USD I still use this. Simple, Comfortable and takes only a minute to attach. However it just feels like a chair with a wheel on it and less like a car.

My third rig project has been started. So far estimates will put it in the $450-$500USD range. I finally have the space for a semi permanent setup, picked up Corbeau Forza II seat on the cheap, and will now be able to fulfill one of my childhood wishes that the F355 arcade rig inspired

That's pretty neat how you made it collapsible. Any link to a guide on how you made it?

Keep this up guys, nice to see you don't need hundreds of dollars to create a nice rig.

Ill have to see if I still have the cad design and If I do Ill load them up. I found a plan on Firetooth.net and used this as a base. Then it was just a matter of using some hinges and brass wood inserts for the screws.

€ 0.-

Made it from the steel of two tables found at work and a new seat for free from a Opel Astra F.

Got a wooden plank at house. So i mounted that.

Love to see this type of threads! I'm on the early stages of desing and would love to see more pics of the diferent dessings out there. At the moment I'm leaning towards the VR style and am on the $50-100 U.S range...

Made my wheel stand from an old keyboard stand and £4 spent on nuts & bolts. (see signature link for more pictures and info)

Keyboard stands cost approx £20 delivered on ebay.
