Poll: iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy S4?

The Galaxy S4 simply because it's a newer device. iOS 8 is probably going to be the last update for the 4S, and if it's anything like what it is on the iPad 2 (same processor and RAM), it's been crippled by it. Obviously because the S4 is newer, the hardware is better too.

Yeah, Android phones as low as 4.1 still run fine and most app's only require that as a minimum. Compare that to iOS where it's well known that any major update that the device didn't come with makes it difficult to live with. Two versions later usually makes it unusable. Plus most app's require near the latest iOS.

It's a simple decision IMO, the Galaxy is well supported and has better specs. However if you are in the Apple ecosystem it might work for you to have an iPhone but I wouldn't go any lower than a 5.

Plus you can root the samsung and run custom ROM if you ever choose which can extend the life of the phone while providing the newer things androids get.
You can install any app you choose be it on the playstore or not, you can downgrade if you ever choose to do so.

I've always owned android phones and tablets, and my girlfriend used to get Iphones, because pretty much they're a fashion item, and she had nothing but trouble with them. I don't understand why anyone likes them, I found them to be rubbish and intensely frustrating things to use. Couple that with the ridiculous price for low quality and outdated specs, and the fact that Apple products only work with other Apple products, and they will charge you for every thing they can get away with. Whereas Android products are compatible with a way wider variety of brands.

There's no doubt a thousand other reasons to support pretty much any Android phone over an Iphone, but I'm tired so I'll let someone else take over lol.

Galaxy S2 Versus iPhone 4S is more comparable as they are similar generation hardware and competitors, Galaxy S4 is a no brainer out the two.

Out of interest, are you sure it is the iPhone 4S he wants, not the iPhone 5S as that is more comparable.

You can get an iPhone 5 for lower price than S4, much better value than getting an iPhone 4S, an iPhone 4S is a lot cheaper than a S4.

A billion miles the S4. It is so much better it's not even funny. The iPhone 4 is super slow and tiny. No point in it at all over the S4 which is still fairly new and works great.

Coming from an Apple fan. I have a couple friends that were super die-hard fans of the smaller screen sizes but even they abandoned them for newer iPhones.
