Polyphony GT Formula One

I have recently won the 24 hours at Nurburing, and got the Formula One. It is manufacture in Japan, however there is no tune shop from which to buy tires. Is this just all there is to it, or is it possible to purchase tires for this beast?

You can't change the tyres on it in GT mode but you can change the tyres and modify the power and/or weight in arcade mode.

Thanks a lot. Regardless, even the stock Racing Mediums, you can go 15 or 20 minutes HARD on these tires before they get loose! I love this machine!

remove some of that -toe from the rear and youll really be happy

I just wanna say thanks to all those people who posted a good set of tuning for the GT Formula car. Those settings work wonders ecspecialy the settings of the transmission for each track you encounter when you are playing the Fomula races. Again, thanks to all who posted an awesome set of tunings. The car now handles great with one exception, when the back tires hit the dirt, the car has a tendency to spin out of control but it only happens on the Nurburgring track. But either than that, I'm getting the hang of it on the track. Also, a little tip for people who are struggling with the drift races AKA Special Condition Races, get the HP Golf 32 which can be found in the Tune Up section where the Japanese upgrades can be found and with that car fully moded can / will win everytime. Except the Tsukuba track wet, you need the formula car for it.

Anyway thanks again, and hope some people find my tip handy

I assume you can use the Formula 1 in Simulation mode? I was planning on using it for the Formula GT in Extreme Events but I was just making sure it wasn't just for looks or Arcade mode like the Nike and several others are.

For the series of races you are talking about, you need the formula 1 car because that is car the AI drives and no other can beat that car in the game. You can drive the formula car in any race that says any car can be driven.:)

Hope this helps ya decide.

PS - it's not like the Nike car, you can actually drive the Formula 1

The AI sucks. I obliterated them with my F1. I imagine using the Minolta or the R8 or the Sauber would do just as well.

What, for Tsukuba WET Hard? Did it in a stock BlackBeauty GT-One :)

I tested my R8 in the FGTC once, and it would've been capable of winning if I'd had the time to finish, the Sauber might be good enough, although you need to have won the series already to get it!
I'd have my doubts about using an 88C-V - eats tyres.
The tyre wear is the greatest strength of the FGT cars.

Eh, no...I used a fully tuned Suzuki GSX-R/4 to win. I won very easily, I might add! The Minolta I was up against just spun all the time, so the whole thing was really a walk in the park.

Whaa! You drew an 88C-V (Will everyone STOP calling it by it's sponser? /rant) in the Tsukuba Wet Hard? I've only ever got R8s, mostly in yellow, never a Group C! If I'd been put against an 88C-V tyre-shredder I'd have had no problem in a GT-R! Ah well. Back on topic...

Off topic again! I have never encountered anything BUT group C cars! I didn´t even know I could be up against a LMP...

Sweet, thanks. I'm halfway there to getting my F1 and I'm so excited to use it. The handling in those cars is absolutely amazing well at least they were in GT3 and it cuts down on the game time which is a bonus.

Awesome, good luck with that too by the way...the handling is great with the car and it does cut the time by little over half...but there is one draw back with the car, you cann't wash it nor change the Wheels for the car...you are stuck with it as is...but either than that, it's a good car :sly:

I did try the car you tryed but I was up against a tuffer adversary than you and everytime i used a car that could beat the previous AI, I kept getting stuck in the dirt and my car would just spin out...so once I won the F1, I used it for the rac against the Bentley 8 Race Car and won, so, I'm happy considering I hate drift races, lol :) :sly:

I know all you other guys are good with the other cars I'm just saying the car I decided to use because with me, I almost drive like the AI anyway and the F1 helps me with those races I'm getting stuck on when I just wanna beat the race and get the prize car anyway...but I thank you for the cars you guys used and I'll try those cars when I have them but in the meantime, my choice of car is the F1 :sly:

I read that long thing you posted and I did find it helpful but, I'm not that good a driver to try to beat F1's with a nissan or some other fast race car where I have not mastered the handling...I know most races can be done with almost any car in the game...it's not the speed or how much horse power you have, it's how you drive it...I know that theory but for some strange reason, it doesn't work with me, lol...more practice needed maybe, lol :nervous:
