In a post uploaded to the Playstation Blog, Matt Southern, Evolution Studio Game Director said that in DriveClub work, among others, employees of Polyphony.

It is not clear whether it refers to employees who previously worked in the Japanese study, or it is an internal collaboration.

The second case open some doors to the influence of Western developers in the future of GT saga.

"When we knew that the new PlayStation was coming, we realised that the time was right to make the Driveclub dream a reality. It was time to combine nearly 15-years of racing game pedigree and a rapidly evolving, connected gaming landscape – this seed of an idea was ready to be realized and the buzz at Evo was unstoppable.
So what did we do?
We expanded our vehicle handling and design team so that together, we have over 50 years’ experience working on the most prestigious racing titles out there, including – WRC, Formula 1, Gran Turismo, MotorStorm, WipEout, Project Gotham Racing, GRID 2 and many more."

What what WHAT!????

Can someone make sense of what's going on? Thanks for making this thread by the way. I'm curious what this entails now. Before, I thought PD/Kaz turned down a collaboration. Maybe a compromise was made?

I would think they are talking about former PD employees, and not PD as a current company.

Exciting. Here's hoping that they rubbed off on the product more than 'advice' wise.

It also could be nothing, just an attempt at getting some "street cred"
But come to think of it, what I hope for is that PD will have the advantage of having access to drive club eye candy setup and can just focus on the tracks and physics.
