Poor Driving = Lower Prize Money ?

I have noticed in the videos of GT PSP a Prize Money display in the bottom right of the screen. And it would appear that if one rams another car, collides with the walls or leaves the track, prize money is reduced? Has this been noted elsewhere before?

From the video in the front page of gtp, what i see on the prize Cr. display is that it changes accordingly to your current position, as we can see the prize money is increasing each time he overtakes a car.

With GT's AI (assuming it's the same as ever), that system of taking money from collisions could go very wrong IMO, because the AI cars could ram you when you are breaking for corners, for example, and you'd be the one paying for that mistake.
