What popup blocker do you use? Ive tried alot of different kind of pop up blockers but none really work for me. The one i downloads do stop some popups but then again alot get threw. What do you use and do it stop all pop ups?

I use WebWasher. It's fairly efficient. Sometimes it blocks something I may need, but then it easy to close down.

pop up stopper-free edition works for me, and if i need a window thats block i just hold the control key and refresh/click on the link again.

rollazn, one thing you need to check for is adware and spyware on your computer. If you're getting large amounts of it for seemingly no reason, I susgest you download "Spybot - Search and Destroy". What it finds will amaze you.

Another problem to be aware of is, many of the "free" P2P programs use adware. They'll load additional programs onto your machine that runs pop-ups wether you're surfing or not.

Additionally, "nice" programs such as Hotbar, which offers great backgrounds for your e-mail is essentially a trojan/tracking program.

Check out pestpatrol.com for additional help.

My wife runs panicware and it seems to work well.

Same here. It's so easy to turn off too.

Thanks to Sunny and Der Alta!

I downloaded and installed both the Toolbar and Sbybot - Search And Destroy and they both work great!

I highly recommend these programs to everyone!

Uh... Safari has a built-in pop-up blocker, so I, um, use that. R0x0rs!

Anyway, *moving*

[edit]: Dammit, didn't see the pretty "redirect" arrow.

Thanks all. Ive download spybot and deleted tons of spyware and other stuff. Thanks for the info. Also I got three pop up blocker, Altavista, google, and pop up stopper so im sure it would keep pop up from poping up. I get alot of banners before but now after using spybot i havent seen one yet. Thanks again. Sorry for putting it in the wrong place.

If you get Ad-Aware 6.0 and AltaVista's toolbar, you are supposedly, according to PCGamer Magazine, having the best protection available. Just out of curiosity Der Alta, uninstall Spybot and get Ad-Aware. I had one of the people that comes to me for PC-related problems ask me on his spyware program, and I tried it. After I updated Ad-Aware, it picked up over 400 spyware files. Ones included were GATOR and IP-Killer. I just didn't seem very satisfied with Spybot's performance after that.

Can you guys help me out... After I download Adware and Spybot i still get pop up like Americansingles and such how can i help this... or get rid of it. I need help, im piss :banghead:

I use Panicware's pop up stopper. My Norton firewall has an ad blocking part to it too so I've got that enabled. Nothing gets through now. :)

Yeah.. I'm really happy with the Norton Internet Security 2004. The build in pop-up blokker works very well!

Right now I've been online for 31 minutes juist browsing the normal websites and it has allready blocked 162 adds. Not a single pop-up gets through.

Buying it will set you back a few bucks though ;)
