Forgotten Wing
Hey, I dunno if this is in the right forum, but I was wondering if anyone could point me to a free popup blocker. I was cruising around on Supercars, and got flooded with popups so much that I had to close down my browser. Can someone direct me to an infinite-use free popup blocker? Thanks

I used something called Kill-Ads; I'm at work, so maybe a search will help.

Mind you, so many sites force you to open another window, so it's not that effective...kind of like using a hand grenade when all you wanted was a silver bullet. But it does the trick well.

I thought there was a setting on it for pop ups, oh well, it has been a while since I used it

Mozilla has a feature that prevents many pop-ups in it. (Not that we'd ever block Jordan's source of revenue towards GTPlanet, no sir!)

No of course not! I'd just use it when I go onto supercars, or when I browse the web...

I didn't know Mozilla had built in pop up stopping power?

If you want to keep using your current browser, I suggest Popup Stopper, but if you are willing to switch, get a browser with a built in blocker.

:D I didn't know that mozilla has a pop-up killer. How can I activate it? Tnx!:embarrassed:

I'm using Meaya Popup Ad Filter. It's possibly the best popup killer ever. You don't have to add pop-ups to a list before it blocks them. Problem is, it's not free.

I was using Popup Killer until they discontinued it. :(

I would suggest a browser with a built in pop-up killer if you can't afford Meaya. Opera is the fastest browser out of them all, has tabbed browsing and has a built-in popup killer.

I have one built into my browser that works great....check it out its free....its called opera 7.0 ....while were on the topic of ads make sure you download AdAware....another freebie that will search your comp for ads and spyware and get rid of it...

It does?
I'll have to try that out then, mozilla is good and all, but it's very slow on 56k.
IE just plain sucks and it's taken me this long to figure it out.

Slim browser is awesome
So far it hasn't corrupted Internet explorer, like Mozilla did to mine awhile back. It's skinable. Has tabed browsing, starts up faster than IE6, and takes less RAM. It has trouble keeping a log-in cookie, but it's got a auto-login feauture that just plain rocks
