Porsche back in the Prototype Game

The thing I like most about this whole thing is that it's Penske Racing running the cars. That is the bit that I'm sure scares the competition most. You get Porsche back into full-on prototype racing, and then get one of the racing industry's best teams behind it, and you have a heavy hitting combo. This type of racing is hard to predict, especially given that the car has yet to compete, but I suspect we'll see VERY good things from them.

bah, too bad it's an LMP2 car. I wish they'd make something to run with audi and the pescarolos.

agree. a battle between porsche, audi and pescarolo for the overall winner of the 24h of le mans for would be much more interesting.

I'd like to know how much of this car has been carried over from their efforts in 1999, with the LMP-1. As far as I know about both of these racers, nothing at all has.

I hope it races in Le Mans now all we need is some more European car companies to do prototypes for Le Mans.

Porsche has said that the car maybe doesn't compete in Le Mans, only in the ALMS
So why would they even make it then, if they weren't going to compete at Le Mans?

$$$

That is why.

LMP2 cars can do alot more than LMP1 cars as far as teams not racing at LeMans or in the ALMS. Porsche is making these cars to sell to customer teams, and to run from the factory...sorta like what Aston Martin's plan has been.
