My question:

Where can I buy a replacement spring that would work for a T300 accelerator pedal? To be specific, I mean the inner spring the pedal comes with

I would figure someone in the sim community may know if I'm lucky.

My story:

People are much more likely to talk about negative experiences online, so I wanted to share a positive story for once.

So the accelerator pedal spring on my T300 pedal set snapped (basically making it unuseable until the spring is replaced). Not sure why it happened, I was actually very lightly feathering the throttle when it happened but I contacted Thrustmaster since it was still under warranty. They answered the phone right away, and simply asked me to take a picture of the pedal set, its serial number, email my address, and the proof of when I purchased it. Right away they sent me a replacement pedal set and it only took a week. They didn't even ask me to send the busted pedals back so basically I have 2 sets now. If I can fix the first set, I'll basically have a backup pedal set thanks to thrustmaster.

I've heard bad things about Thrustmaster support before. About them not answering people that needed support, etc. I had a great experience with them personally and am very happy to be able to use my T300 again.

On a side note, during the week I waited, I was using my old DFGT and holy crap does it feel awful now  The T300 has spoiled me. On the plus side I did get to play some F1 Championship edition which doesn't work with the T300.

Thanks for sharing this. It makes a change to hear something positive.👍

Yea because I had heard bad things about them too but my experience couldn't have been better.

That is cool to hear. My base failed.. I was not happy that it did. I had to go through the same (picture, receipt, address) then they had me box it up and ship it out. My only complaint was not having my wheel. At first the estimated shipping time from UPS came up very long (it ended up being much faster). The new base and rim I got back were much better than my brand new ones. Which is good for me, but bad in the aspect that people were still getting poorly built ones. I bought mine on Amazon back in April 2015, which really is not that long ago. - In the end Thrustmaster got my equipment replaced with a good set so yeah it was a good experience from that aspect.

As for the spring.. since you already have a new set, why not mod up the broken set? Get some stiffer springs, they don't even need to be installed the same way as the originals. If you don't want to even open them up you could just drill little holes and attach springs externally. Like this for example - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Prime-Li...-in-x-1-7-8-in-035-Diameter-SP-9603/202639132
I would only do this if you have stuff lying around the house though or can find some springs for cheap at the store. Since the T3PA pedals are just under $100 the money might be better spent upgrading.

Interesting that they still have this issue.

The spring on my T500RS pedals failed - 3 times over the years. One would have thought they had a fix by now. The first time they replaced the spring, the second time I think I was able to buy 1, the 3rd time they told me to pound sand so I have a jerry rigged makeshift foam pad/spring in place now.

Sometimes I wonder if it depends on which person you get in customer services. You got rather different responses each time.

Thrustmaster's support is perfect.

My first hand experience with their customer's support was a very positive experience.

Tell the world I said so. :D
