Was reading the thread about backfire, and someone posted a picture from the PCPX_966.49 - file from the GT4 demo. I tried it myself, and maybe found some new information :)

- There might be some new manufactorers. Tickford was not in the list from the booklet...but it was in GT3, right?

- It seems like you can have tire damage (wear) and AI opponents in 2-player.

- There is some about photomode, but probably nothing new.

- In the calendar picture it says something about oline rally and online B-spec.

- Some of it is probably sounds: backfire 👍 ...and heartbeat :boggled:

- And last tuning options I believe: tiresize, tirecompound, racingmodify (hmm :dopey: ) And btw, just under the tuning thing, it says GT4_AUGUST2120. Maybe the demo was made in August

Everyting I've said here is based of some small words found in the demo, so don't shoot me if it's wrong

Hm.. Scion and Polyphony mentioned as manufacturers.. That probably means the F1 cars are back.

Not sure what the "heartbeat" means.. seems to be part of the sound file, so maybe the driver gets antsy toward the end of a race (now that we have a driver).

Ok from the top left to bottom right clockwise,... The first set of informatiom as stated may mean the F1 are back and it bassically mentions the manufactures on the demo. The second one is about the options of the demo, such as force feedback, steering assists, ghost and transmissions. The next one is about the photo mode with the camera angle, zoom and such. The next is about the main menu or gran turismo resorts, showing race, options, test run, and car shop etc. The next one is mostly sound files, backfire, cheers, crash, tunnel woosh, and so on . The last one is the GTshop, where you buy the parts for the car, port and polish, muffeler and others. Racing modification is there aswell. Thats what i belive is there. Nothing too new id say beside the noted "drivers heartbeat" and " scion and polypoyn" as manufactures coming abck with F1s. Also the Backfires being a sound file is another possible confirmation to the already strongly backed, backfire assumptions.

I hope this is implemenetd into the game although i dont know if Gt could handle it. But it would certaintly add a new dimension to the game.

I hope racing modification is really back in, that was one aspect of GT2 that i really liked, and I was really sad that it was left out of GT3. :(

I saw the word "cheetah" as well.....

Speculation of course......

Well, the xA and xB are simply rebadged Toyota's. However, the tC is completely unique to Scion, no rebadging or anything. So it is to all extents a Scion.

WoW..... kind of surprise none of you notice that Spyker is pretty much confirmed, do to that information given....now hoping that is right is all that matters now...oh and thats awesome if we get racing modifications up and running again....can't wait to race modify the Saleen S7......hoping it is possible to make it into the Saleen S7R...... :dopey:

EDIT: I might add other car companies that arent in the list yet or dont have any cars in their favor.....Lexus....Gillet...

The last screenie above, list "cougar", "jaguar", "cheetah". Again, I'm not saying its confirmed, just a possibility?

Saleen S7R

And that Cheetah looks like it would be fun. What kind of powertrain?

LOL....Hmmmmmm ..... ok.... yea I thought it was that first off, but wasn't sure....thanks for the correction chief... :sly:

From the picture I would assume that the Cheetah is an FR car, you can see the exhaust pipe on the side of the car. That coupled with the fact that the length of the front of the car basically says that there is an engine there and not in the back. Its probably not an FF because, well, why would that be an FF,. It also sort of bears a resemblance to the Gillet Vertigo, I think, which also leans toward the FR.

I knew that, I meant like what kind of engine and transmission and stuff. although i guess it's somewhat of a kit car from the photo. So the buyer gets to chose that, and subsequently their's no way to answer my question. oh well.

I think he means what engine/gearbox has it got, its obvious its a FR.

*Edit* I was a tad late.

the cheetah looks a beast :D

heres some info
Chassis: Race Works chassis was painted silver and had 9 additional gussetts and were built using 4130 chromoly tubing. They used solid mounts for the engine, transmission and differential. It was 47" high, 68" wide, with a front track of 57"-59" and a rear track of 57".

The Cheetah can be considered Chevy's "Shelby Cobra." I watched a show where they took one of these out onto a track and it was pretty nice. My stepfather said he saw these things racing at Road America back when he was in college.

Vemac, Scion, Lexus, and Infiniti... hmmmm...

All the highlighted Photo Mode stuff is pretty interesting to me too. Our choice of Pentax, Canon, and Nikon? And the amount of options are pretty impressive considering this is just a game. Photo lab?

I'm interested in the continual mentioning of Tire Size. If we can decide that, it partially eliminates a reason I tend to enjoy hybriding (making other realistic versions of the car not found in the game).

I saw a word Cizeta... The only one is Cizeta Moroder V16T. Transversely mid mounted 5995cc V16, the car is 2.1m wide and 1.1m high, 4 cylinder heads, 8 camshafts, two fuel-injection systems, four distributors, 64 valves, 560bhp@8000rpm, redline is 8500rpm(for 6L V16!!!) - it was an inhouse built engine and was very reliable, unlike its ferrari and lambo counterparts of the time :)

The only problem with that is that AMC (formed from the merger of Nash and Hudson) and Studebaker are seperate companies. AMC did make a 327 of their own which predated the Chevy 327 by about 10 years, but because it was based on an older thick-wall casting, as opposed to Chevy's thin-wall casting, it was much heavier and less receptive to performance tuning. However, it may be that the AMC crank might have been sturdier and therefore more reliable in racing.
