try downloading divx again. Did you try using the actual divx player? are you using windows media player?

I downloaded it again..still no luck..but I can now watch MPEG also...yes I use windows media player.

go to kazaa and look for XVID codec by ViTe. that allowed me to watch all the new Divx's. especially ones with no audio.

You don't have the codec for the previous versions of DivX. Some use 4 or 3 which is not fully supported in ver 5.
Edit: I so wanted to triple post but here's the binary for Xvid since the offical site only provides the source:

I just looked and we have ver 9..it's a new computer..only had it about a week and a half...I'm gonna look at that decoder thing you said to. I wanna see avi vids
