Toyota Starlet Turbo S '82 is actually NA.

Sorry if this has been discussed already.
And what sucks is that it CAN'T even get a Turbo to live up to it's name. :yuck:

The Venturi Atlantique 400 is missing the Twin Turbos the car is supposed to have. :grumpy:

I read EVERY post in this thread. This has not been said, and I find it to be funny, and it makes the game a tad easier.

When in the chase cam, when you are in the close cam, the car is normal sized, when you go to the farther out chase, the car gets smaller, but the track and other cars stays the same size! :dopey:

only this:

the car (the only thing in the game close to Ferrari288, btw) is supposed to be a MIDSHIP so no carbon propeller shaft but instead going to the parts shop the lightweight shaft is avaible to buy and can be equipped

What's wrong with Honda Logo? I have never bought this car, now I did, and it seems to accelerate itself with the stock gearbox :ill: Why does that happen?

yup. that's the glitch I spotted with the Logo. it's tunable, btw, and even race mods. it's worth playing with.

The Logo, if I recall correctly, stops revving at second gear at 5000(?)rpm. But the speed keeps on climbing. When you fit racing gearboxes that oddity is gone though (i.e. it accelerates through the gears just like any other car). It's a bit like a Prius with an extra gear. This oddity is what makes me have a Logo in my garage . Dunno about you guys, but I like collecting 'weird' cars.

Good thing is, it's quite fast when fully-modded (ok looking RM too), hot hatch indeed 👍.

I'm gonna try and explain this, but it's hard, so take what i say with a grain of salt. The Logo in gT2 (and the Fit in gT4....and also the Prius in both games) are suppoed to have a CVT "Constantly Variable Transmission". Instead of shifting thru different sized gears, these cars use a system of variable belt-drives or hydraulics to achieve acceleration.

The engine revs up to a certain speed, and then the transmission clutches in. I'm not 100% sure how they work, but essentially it's like spinning a bowl of cold oatmeal with a spoon as you heat it up. At first, the oatmeal is cold and won't match your arm as you stir it, but as it heats up, the oatmeal matches the rotation of your spoon, and stirs faster.

....that's actually a rather sucky explanation, but it's the best i can do :dunce: oh well.

i do know this, though...when you buy a different transmission, the stock CVT is replaced by a conventional system of variably-sized gears.

"It's snicky". "Multimatic Transmission". But other than that, there really are no clues. And, of course, Wikipedia has only a stub on the car without mentioning the transmission.

Those descriptions become more biased every time I read them.

You said CVT? Well, that could explain what the Multimatic may be.

NOt sure. We dont have HOnda Logos in America; but we do have the Honda Fit & Toyota Prius, both of which have variable trannys. I've never driven or seen a car at my job with this so-called "multimatic" transmission.

....i would google it but i'm being lazy.

Hmm... let's see...

In the Used Car Lot in Suzuki, the Suzuki Cappucino is spelt "Capcino".

In the Clubman Cup, Red Rock Raceway or something, sometimes there is a Wiegert in the starting lineup. The HP limit is 591 (I think) and the Wiegert has over 600.

A certain rally race against the Peuegot 206 Rally Car, the Peuegot crashes into the wall in 2 seconds and stays there. Easy win, even in a super-slow car.

That's all I can remember. Oh yeah, there is also the infamous "Max Speed" glitch of which because of it, I only own a Daihatsu Midget, which explains why I never play the game.

this car:

a little bit difficult to handle, prone to spin out and other bad things so I checked the suspension settings :

well, where is the cursor ?

here

if positioned to 115mm you can't go back to 135mm. Now the car is more stable but really don't know if is game version / emulator bug, I'm just curious if you guys have esperienced this

I have never experienced that, but then I never set my car higher than 100mm either, so even if it's a game glitch it's a useless/harmless one. Good find though.

Yeah that is bizarre, Dix. It must be in your game only, or perhaps a batch of CDs that got bad coding somehow. I definatley drove the Esprit GT1 a couple years ago, it did not have that glitch in my game.

thanks for the replies

cleared that the little glitch (note the cursor did appear only when left is pushed) happen only in the Japan version:\

Maybe those areas are the least infrequent crash points on the circuit... and who wants to watch the action alone?

And it's interesting how in GT4, the spectators stand there and wave their arms as you pass (if they move at all) like a bunch of simpletons, or fire off their camera flashes like the Beatles just stepped from the plane (even when no cars are passing by!) And then in GT5, the spectators supposedly are going to be even more animated! :scared::nervous:

....but the cardboard cutouts are the funniest. They just stand there..huddled so closely together in little cliques or like groups of sheep on a pasture.

Simple is best, really, when it comes to these things. You don't want to get distracted by what the spectators are doing and not watch the road :scared:. I think PD may have slightly overdone it in GT5 (not that I have seen how the spectators are in GT5), this is a racing game after all, not The Sims .

On topic: Have anyone noticed that the Elise GT1's stabilizer settings can't be changed? It's both set at 1 and there's no cursor whatsoever so you can't change the values :grumpy:.

I know! When I passed by in my Daimler-Benz Patent Motorwagen, at the speed of 12km/h, they were waving their arms and cheering! Anyone else would be checking their watch.

"More animated"? *slaps forehead*

Is there an explanation for the A.I. inexplicably stopping in certain accidents?

 YEah and all the dudes apparently shop at the same thrift store snice htey all wear black shirts with blue jeans or one other set of clothes! And notice...there are no ladies in the audience ever! HUH???

Yeah, that's the gyst of what i've read so far in the GT5 forums...they're gonna make the spectators more animated..and in general the off-track areas are supposed to get even more movement.

Remember the giant giant windmills in GT3? At Super Speedway and the Test Course? I wish they'd bring those back.
