As the title says, Post your top 10 song you listen to while racing! I'll start.
I'm more of a classic rock type of guy, so:
All along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin
Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
Sunshine of your Love - Cream
Layla - Eric Clapton
Somebody to Love - Jefferson Airplane
Time Has Come Today - the Chambers Brothers
Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix
In A Gadda Da Vida - Iron Butterfly
Summer in the City - The Lovin' Spoonful
Nights in White Satin - the Moody Blues

Not a bad list, I prefer the ones I bolded but could listen to any of them

I have several good ones on my menu music but do not listen to music while racing, need to focus on engine and tire sounds.

Some of the better ones on my menu are

Roll on down the Highway - BTO
Flirting with disaster -Molly Hatchet
Twilight zone - Golden Earring
Drivers Seat - Sniffin the tears
Space Race - Billy Preston
Who are you - The Who
Run away train - Elton John & Eric Clapton
Radar Love - Golden Earring

Mostly a racing/driving theme I suppose ;)
 
A lot of the songs from an album by Ronald Jenkees called Days Away. You guys should look it up, anytime I hear any of the songs on that album I immediately start thinking of GT6.

Just got the game two days ago..are all of these songs on the sound track or are we talking about whats on my ipod/cd player/cassette playing boombox/8track/record player?

Either way I like your top 10 very much. I like Grazin' in the grass and who's that lady too. Any Floyd.

Is there a way to select/un-select songs like there was in past games?

You can use your own music in game, just copy the mp3 files to the PS3 and create a play list then in options tell the game to use that playlist

Yeah i just checked it out, but I have always like the soundtracks esp 4 and 5, From the smooth jazz to the Heads will roll remix, I just crank it and not give a darn about the poor engine sounds :cool:.

I absolutely agree with that.

Not that I'm a 458 fanboy, but watching that video is like eye candy for me even to this day. It's just so well made and the music is beautiful. I remember watching it every night the month before GT5 was finally released lol

As much as I love music, I don't like to listen to music while doing proper racing, as in online matches or time trials.
The sounds of road noise/engine/tyres even though most don't sound that great, they are important for me to understand what is going on with the car on the track, changing gears, loss of traction, etc.

That being said, I like to listen to my music when I play vs the A.I. offline. And for that I usually listen to club-house/rave/DnB or electro-pop-rock, depending on my mood.

And since Ferrari458Italia didn't mention what was the name of that great DnB song from the Ferrari 458 Italia - Gran Turismo 5 Trailer, for anyone wondering, it's called: "London Elektricity - Just One Second (Apex Remix)".

I don't like other music, as once you hear the tracks, nothing will ever sound the same :)
