HELL-o, Im new here. Today I have been playing a GT5P demo and comparing stuff to a "full" GT5P, and I notised some major changes.
Those are-
1) Tyre noise became much softer
2) In the demo, there is no throttle cut, when you go to sand or grass.
3) You can not look left or right in first person view
4) The showroom camera angles look much better in the demo!!!
5) Collision physics are more pronounced in demo (I think they got worse now)
6) when driving in roof camera mode you could see a rear end if you look behind (that was cool, but now its like gt4 roof camera)
7) and the biggest change (IMO) is the chase camera position....
I was kinda dissapointed when I got the full prologue, because in the demo, the chase cam was close, just like in gt4. Becawse of this, you could see more details on a vehicle, and the sence of speed was higher. But now the chase camera is way to far away, its like driving a toy model car....It just does not feel right. I really liked the chase cam in other GT's, especially in GT4 (flames shooting out of exaust system) so Im hoping that PD will make a tool to adjust position of a camera or something...

But what are your opinions about cameras and feature differences?

My opinion: Who needs the chase cam? ;)

The biggest difference is the handling, the demo plays more like GT4, even on pro mode.
The full version is way better.

One thing i miss are the motorsport news that were in the demo, that was a cool feature.

I knew someone would say that about the chase cam.
But I like to hear the full exaust tone of a vehicle sometimes.

Heh, I havent even seen the news section over there.....maybe becawse it was japanese

The motorsport news came when you were in the main menu and didnt press any button, the menu disappeared and a banner came (only available were the demo still was online).

And yeah, i know where youre coming from and i also do that sometimes, but i get mostly disappointed by the bad sound of the game. lol

The thing is many cars in past GT's had a good sound (I know some were just awful)
but now, things are changing! The only thing in my opinion PD i doing wrong is that they are making the ENGINE noise louder than EXAUST noise,, this is why we all hear this nasty grinding sound. Well, the future will tell...

HELL-o, Im new here. *snap*

I don't have a GT5p copy anymore. Haven't played it in months so I can't give you any opinions, just wanted to say: welcome to GTP!

3) You can not look left or right in first person view

Yes you can, maybe not the same as the cockpit view, it doesn't gradually look left and right, it just instantly shows the left and right like the rear view, but you can look left and right.
Just make sure you have "left view" and "right view" mapped to your controller/wheel.

As for other differences, most of them are personal preferrence and some of the effects (like the sound effects and the exhaust flames) are "works in progress"....it is still Prologue. I don't think Polyphony are going in the wrong direction with SFX, sure it isn't perfect yet but its far better than previous GT's, and as its Prologue, I fully expect them to improve upon it by GT5.

thanx!

About looking left and right. I have not found that function in the demo, but it was in GT HD. By the way, did you know that PD was showing us the nurburgring before GT HD?

Welcome to GT Planet!

No throttle cut, when you go to sand or grass <--- this is good. Let's hope GT5:P / GT5 goes back to that on professional physics at least.

The current showroom angles are terrible, I agree!

Although I don't use the chase camera, it was even better in GT1 than it is now.

I know this isn't a wishlist, but I would love to have that version of Eiger. It's so much cleaner looking.

Agreed. Looks much more like a quiet road in nowhere, rather than a fictional racetrack.

Regarding cameras, a tool to modify the chase camera viewpoint would be very useful. I only use the chase cam in high-traffic starts online.
I would also like a centered in-car view option.

yeah! I got proof, here it is. In this video PD is introdusing Ferraris. You can spot, that eiger nordwand track does not have any spectators, and the vehicle does not have any shadow. Im thinking this trailer was made somewhere in 2005-2006?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umKeruuLehs

It was made 2006 for the Paris Autoshow if i remember correctly.
But the Nordschleife (and Monaco too....) are from GT4, so nothing special.

And i dont want that plain Eiger course, i love the spectators and photographs on the track (not to mention that its very bad textured compared with Prologues version).

I only use the cockpit camera but IMO the chase cams have not been good and are to stiff since GT3. On GT3 you could see the side of the car when turning but now its too rigid and IMO is harder to control.
But i use cockpit view now anyway.

But in the demo you could look at the left and right rear quarter views which you can see by pressing the pad down diagonally rather than just the left and right views which was great. That and the throttle cut while on the grass/sand is my biggest dissapointment of Prologue from the demo.

If the chase cam followed the track path, I would use it perhaps. But it follows the car and the result is extremely jerky control. I drive from cockpit only.

You forget to mention that Physics have changed DRAMATICALLY! I think collision Physics are bit more real over demo.

Yes in DEMO in Cockpit veiew you could look Rear right, Rear Left, Now you can only look back.
I am guessing in FULL game the views will become available all over again, so don't worry :)

That may be so, but that isn't what he stated.

In GT5: P, I can look left, right or back in the cockpit - but not back AND left if that is what you mean. I just had to assign the controls in options. Also, assigned to an analogue stick, the angle left and right can be adjustable.

Yeah that's what I mean. You could not look at the both REAR corners. And I did mention you could only do that in DEMO.. Now you cant. You can only adjust Left Right view with stick, and only look back. I think You can look rear corners as well only in 1st person view (not Cockpit)

I need it, I loved thay view.

Yes it works only in bumper view.
Oh well PD has time to finish their product till Christmas.

P.S. about physics change. I did not mention this, becawse driving physics were changed five times already (GT HD, GT demo, Spec1, Spec2, Spec3)
And I think that sound effects will be changing more, as they progress (I hope not regress) thru development!

Huh? You mean in GT5P (not demo)? I just tried the bumper cam (and all the views) and you cant see the rear corners.

Yes, GT5p has adjustable camera angle in bumper view (front-left, right. rear-left, right) also, they are pressure sensitive, unlike GT HD's

I hate the fact that with roof-cam (which i prefer to use while racing) looking left and right isn't available, but in replays it is...

Are you able to explain how you can see the rear left and right views in GT5P bumpercam? I have tried but to no avail :(

Well...I assigned L2 and R2 buttons to look left and right- the harder Im pressing them, the more the camera turns. To see the rear left and right views in GT5P bumpercam, all I have to do is use a bumper cam, look back, and press corresponding left or right buttons.
