This is great, you're an artist. I would like to have this publishing skills...
Congrats, and merry christmas too. Hapy new year.

Least I can do for all your tunes I have used Laurent. :bowdown: :bowdown:
Thanks, but no artist here, just some sloppy PhotoShop work. ;)
Check your PMs when you have time. :sly:

If anyone wants a good laugh see my post on ScreenShots/Videos thread.
...don't worry, a Praiano Tune was not responsible for the air time...

:cheers: Happy Holidays All!

How to set your gearbox in GT6
gearboxe.jpg
I’ll try to stay as clear as possible.
This method fit to most of the cars in GT6.
The goal is to spread the gears at the best place ,where the max power is.
I’ll consider also that the car need to perform a good standing start, classic situation in an online race.
I’m going to take the Nurb Nordschleife for example with my:

BMW M3 CSL // 550PP // SPORT MEDIUM 499 HP at 8700 RPM

Nordschleife is the place where a good launch is very important.

So ,you have a car with a given power ,with a certain kind of tires.
The first thing to do is go back at the beginning of the straight , 4 km back, to check the top speed you need.

To this speed you’ll have to add 10 kmh in case of draft but in this case you'll see that there is some room till red zone.

How to set the max speed if the GT6 setting panel don’t show this top speed ??

Go on track to check it.

After the test you saw that you reach 320 kmh.

Back to our “ring” gearbox.
We will talk about % on the setting bar.
gearssettingpanel.png

Do like this:
1- Move your final gear to the right , around 75% of the setting bar in this case 4.000.
h8fi.jpg
2- Set the top speed slider to the minimum value, lower top speed available ,here 200 KMH.
tjgi.jpg
3-Set the last gear ratio full right on the setting bar = 100%
i5dk.jpg
4-Move again your final gear to an aproximative low value, between 0% and 20% is ok. Here we need 2.050 to reach the 320 KMH at 8700 RPM +-
fa2k.jpg

Now check your top speed on the straight or enter the value on the excel sheet to see if your top speed is OK. Here just after the bridge end of straight.

p86l.jpg
OK, now you have set the last gear we have a 6th gear ratio at 100%, full right on the panel, and your final gear to reach the speed you need on this track.

For the other gears it’s very simple.
You need to perform a good standing start to jump in front of the race.
Go on track again, check your start.
-Wheels must not spin too much , you loose grip like this and stay behind.
-The car must not squat too ,falling engine RPM loosing power and staying planted on the starting line.
To set the perfect launch after test it, you set your 1st gear to 40% of the setting bar (39% exactly in this case 4.550).
hswo.jpg

The only thing you need to do now is to spread visually the 2,3,4,5th gears between the 1st and last 6th.
It will give:
1st = 40%
2d = 55%
3rd = 70%
4th = 85%
5th = 90%
6th = 100%
xpaw.jpg
To do this visually is not easy because PD take out the graduations on the setting bar that we had in GT5.

So,to be exact in your ratios calculation, you can use our excel sheet to calculate it. My friend Sam did a good job ,just play with it together with your setting panel to enter the datas and you’ll understand it in a few minutes of practice.
Here is the link to google doc sheet. You can download ,clic "file" and "download as excel file"
I don't know how many time it will stay OK because anybody who have access can edit it. Or send me a mail and i send you back the original.
GT6 gearbox calculation sheet

u166.jpg

Just follow the tips, enter the red value only.

To calculate by approximation the tires perimeter ,go on route 10 and check your exact speed in any gear at a given RPM.
Just have to enter a perimeter value in red till you match with the speed you’ve seen on track.
295 KMH in 5th gear at stabilized 9000 RPM in this case.
jpmf.jpg

After a few times ,you'll be able to build a custom gearbox for any car any track in a few minutes. Easy.
Have a good drive.

I've been using your tunes for a while in GT5,can't wait for some great tunes in GT6,thanks buddy

Hi Praiano63,

Any GT300 Subaru BRZ tunes will be helpful in my quest of titles, will appreciate if there is any others GT300/500 machines tunes to share as well. As I am a real fan of these GT machines.

Wishing all of you a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Hello Praiano,

First time coming back to your master-tunes since GT5, and it was the BMW Z4 GT3 that brought me back.

Other, unpredictable cars from GT6, like the light MRs, I've been able to make them workable, but not this Z4 GT3. I did get some of the kinks out of the front end and I made the car more stable under hard breaking at the end of the straight, but the unintended consequences of this tuning were harsh. The car became sluggish through and out of corners, and the strange behaviour over curbs and high-speed twists only got stranger, so I came to your tunes wondering whether anyone could possibly save this car.

Naturally, I was stunned! You've turned a high-powered mess of disjointed machinery into a smart, confident racer. Unbelievable! Congratulations on, and thanks for, yet another car-saving tune!

Have a happy holidays :)

Hello my friend, thanks for the new tuning :) just a remark I've noticed on the title of this tuning it says 450 PP, whilst on the tuned sheet is 550 PP. Thanks.

Sure i'll , some GT300 , GT500 , and others race cars are needed in each category. In a few weeks ,i'll have a good garage. It's a bit empty for the moment but i'll feed it day after day.
The Subaru BRZ will be the first GT300

You're welcome. For the BMW , it's better yes but still not very good. Like the Audi R8 who is horrible on bumpy road. Like you say, it's just a save, but i hope PD will correct this physics imperfections soon with a update.

Thanks, it's corrected now. I was very tired yesterday night when i was publishing the tune. I have to make it again 4 or 5 times because i was sleeping with my hand falling over my keyboard.

Have a good day everybody.

And a merry christmas.:)

Yes, i"ve tested it after my friend JogoAsobi asked me about the GT5 tune. It was almost perfect. I would add just a bit negative front TOE now.

Do you have any suggestions for spring rate on the R8 race car yet? I turned the rates all the way down with the intention of messing with them afterwards but it's been working so well I haven't messed with it.

but all the R8 LMS are a real garbage in GT6. For the moment, at least till they fix the little physic bug those cars have, in my opinion.

I'm really disappointed with that car. Which really sucks because that car in the Bilstein livery is one of my favorite cars in real life.

Why has the GT2 no gears in the sheet?
This is a stock gearbox. I love the sound of the stock car, a custom gearbox would hide it and also because the stock is a good one with the gears well spreaded .... not perfectly but it stay very competitive.

Nothing yet, i've just tested it with the GT5 settings, it was very good already. Just a question of time for me to make a new tune. For the moment ,the old one can give a lot of work to others racers online.:lol: It's a very fast car.👍

Likewise, and you, and everyone Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Praiano. After Christmas though I was wondering if you could tune the 2011 Elise at 500PP. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

hello Mr.P

thanks alot for these tunes, it seems you either drove this for a good amount or u have changed it's oil and forgut to mention it in the sheet mine reached 645pp with 0 miles on it had to change oil in order to get it to 602pp and then detuned it using the power limiter.

The MR cars have turned out to be very disappointing. Usually they are a great drive but even with your tunes to help I can barely handle them. I thought my wheel was broke after trying the FXX & the R8, tune helped some but still a handful.
Merry Christmas.

Its very good, but with Engine Upgrade it handles like it is a 2.500 kg car with sport hard tires in sharp corners

Love the tunes on the csl, Diablo gt, enzo and fxx. Any chance you can do anything for a ruf yellowbird, ruf rgt, r34 skyline and bently speed 8 please?
