Precision Design Worx is finally rolling. Part of my normal day job is designing products so I figured why not help out my fellow sim racers. I've only been sim racing for a little over a year now, but I had quickly realized how important it is to have good, quality components to use. I decided to throw my hat in the ring. The development has taken longer than expected, but we are just about done with the first run of parts.
As I'm sure many of you have already seen, this is the paddle shifter set from PDW. It is machined from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum and then hardcoat anodized for an extremely durable and consistent finish. Albeit a rather simple construction, it is an extremely solid set of shifters. There are no seams to break apart and the geometry gives it the strength to really take a beating, especially with all of the new direct drive wheels. The machining and construction is on par with true motorsport shifters like those in WEC, TUSCC and F1.
These feature magnetic snap action shifting which allows for fast, definite and reliable actuation. No springs to wear out, they are truly the ultimate way of controlling the feel. Incredibly reliable switches are used, but the key is the design of the body. Some shifters have the paddle arm bottom out on the switch, leading to premature failure of said switch. With the QS-1 design, the paddle arm bottoms out on the body, taking away any undue stress on the switch. This leads to a much better lifespan for the switch.
Pricing will be as follows:
$265 shipped, with formula style paddles, inside US.
$275 shipped, with GT style paddles, inside US.
$25 shipping for single set for international orders.
$10 for each additional set for international orders.
Quantity discounts will be available.
The first batch of shifters should be available early June. Check out the Facebook page below for more pictures. Click like, maybe when the page gets 1000 likes I'll give away a free set of shifters
