How do you prefer to listen to music?

I've gone back to buying CD's and using iTunes to rip them into .wav format for playback on my iPod. CD's are dirt cheap now (Best Buy was selling brand new ones for $5 a pop), versus paying the same price for an entire album on iTunes in a lower quality. Kind of makes me wish iTunes would start selling CD quality audio on the iTunes Store. Why they don't, I have no idea.

I listen to Spotify or SiriusXM in my car and occasionally at work on through my phone. I don't think buying CDs is worth it anymore because all they do is get scratched or lost.

Vinyl for 5 star tunes, CD for bargain bin finds and 320/256 kbps digitals for everything else. Hoping to upgrade a few to FLAC if I find a new job.

Sansa Clip + MP3 player. Hasn't failed me yet. I used Fuze's previously but they don't make those anymore.

I have 1 way of listening to music, stick it in a CD player/Cassette deck. Turn on.

Or I stick the CD into my Computer, I also use Youtube. But that's not just for 'music' so I don't really count it.

I depends on what I'm in the mood for... Not just the music but how I want to listen to it.

Usually I stick to listening to albums in full on iTunes where I keep everything on my PC.

I have a playlist on Spotify which has my favorite songs from a portion of the bands I listen to. (The playlist is around 1500 songs right now) But its an ever growing work in progress.

For music discovery, Last.fm or Bandcamp.

Occasionally when alone I'll pop on a CD on our home theater system and drink a beer to it.

In the car its all CDs.

I do use YouTube once in a while. I stopped using Cassette's but I still have many of them. Honestly I think cassettes sound fantastic.

In the car - CD's
At home (pending spot) - while on the Computer, it's iTunes or Youtube. If we are shooting pool, it's the home stereo. If we are in one of the garages, another home stereo.

Most times I use my iPod to hear rips from Youtube, as I don't have any flashy headphones to actually buy music from iTunes/CD. Altough the rips aren't bad quality though. :)

CD's.

I'm probably one of the few remaining people who still buy's and listens to all of their music on CD's.

My preferred method of purchase is usually CDs. Especially if I like the artist whose album I plan on buying. If it's just one song, I usually buy it off of iTunes. As for preferred listening method, it depends on the situation. If I'm on my computer, I listen via YouTube or iTunes. If I'm on a walk, either CD player or iPod. If in the car, usually through the stereo. Unless it's one that not everyone likes, in which case it's either CD player or iPod.

If I'm in the car, it's a CD 99% of the time - only rarely do I hook up my Ipod to the stereo.

At home, It's usually either a CD/SACD or a record. I'm quite proud of my stereo setup. I'm a big fan of separates, mostly because I enjoy playing with and mixing all the various pieces. Also, the thrift stores provide a great source for cheap and gently-used (most of the time) CDs and records, so I rarely have to buy new ones. The great thing about so many people moving to get rid of physical mediums is that there's lots to be had for those of us that swear by them! :D

I also rip all my CDs and records to iTunes at a lossless format so I can throw them on my iPod for when I'm at school or out and about.

No arguement here, now if only my needle wasn't broken.

Replacement cartridges or stylus are quite affordable or quite expensive depending on what you want. Check needledoctor.com or even Amazon. The cart that came with my AT LP120 is pretty decent for the price, $44.

Thanks! I'll take a look, hopefully I can get back to listening to my Stand By Me Soundtrack soon haha.

I'm mostly restricted to iTunes since hardly any physical CDs and discs are available here, and the ones that are available aren't really in line with my tastes.
