I was board one day and thinking about this. đź’ˇ But do you not think it would be good if GT5 were to have more explorable preview option where you are able to look around the cars in more detail. To me the idea of being able to look at any of the cars purchased, won or just owned in detail, like under the hood and inside, just makes the game seem true.

Ideally if there is a more accessible and in-depth tuning facility on GT5, it should allow the viewer to be able to view the car as tho they are there. For example, each time a part is brought and installed, you should be able to see it appear in the engine or underneath the car (for exhaust systems). We don't necessarily have to see it being fitted but to see a slight change in the look and not just the feel would be immense.đź‘Ť

That's an interesting thought, but it would take PD to take a longer time working on that. Also, it would lots of graphic space for their disc apart from the already many space used. I do agree with you whatsoever, it'd be a little bit like NFS series where you can just see the car's detail and rotate to see the whole thing, but taking it to a further level with all the parts added and ability to see it.

ok i've done a lil' research (this ones old but i hope it helps)from IGN http://cars.ign.com/articles/744/744294p2.html

IGN: What kind of customization will we be able to see in Gran Turismo HD? Will we be able to see a deeper level of customization than what has been seen in previous GT games? Like, will we be able to tune the aero parts of the car and add vinyls? Or will this newest GT continue to focus mainly on engine and suspension tuning?

Kazunori: (Brings up GT HD's car-select screen and selects a Skyline - which just so happens to fill up the entire screen.) We may not be able to provide this immediately off the bat when we launch, but the cars we are designing/modeling for PS3... you see that line separating the bumper from the body? That (bumper) comes off. Again, previously a car model in GT 4, it was one skin. Now you can take parts off, because the cars are made up of components. So for this Skyline, for instance, you can take off the front bumper and replace it with something else.

IGN: Is the plan to get licensed aero kits like C-West and Mugen? Or will all the aero kits be GT-original designs?

Kazunori: It would be a combination of both, actually.

IGN: Are the aero companies excited to be in the game, or have they even been approached yet?

Kazunori: We haven't approached them yet.

Given that there are car components (or cars are made up of components) and modelled car interiors, I thinks its possible. It would be truly amazing to see modelled car engines, suspensions, intercoolers and everthing thats inside, I know this is too much to ask for, but it'll be a cool idea i guess.

CAR CUSTOMIZATION IN GT5 (evil grin)

This all sounds fantastic.I just wish Sony/PD would give us SOMETHING new on the game. It's been a long time between drinks.I suppose now we will have to wait until E3.

Read the Scandisk's post.......and have your thirst QUECHED!!:sly:
Polyphony are going to make GT5 REALLY GREAT!!
A new ultra powerful system which the PS3 is; will allow for such HUGE Games. So Kazonori and his fantastic team at PD can have a party making up new game details and the like!!đź‘Ť
remember how good GT3 was on the new PS2!! It was a massive jump from GT2...especially in the Graphics and handling of the Cars.
I'm sure whatever the final production becomes, it will not disapoint!!
Polyphony Digital has and will never disapoint you with there Drive/Ride Sims!!
GO PD!!!:D

Yeah, your right, the details in that post sound great.
Knowing how good this games going to be just makes the wait that much harder.
I may even have to sircum to an X-Box 360 and Forza 2 to tide me over.

I hope that this can carry over to the racing cars, and how they have interchangable parts for differing areo setups for different circuits.

When he says that bumper is a component and it can be removed, i wonder if you can leave the bumper off and see the grille and the chassis etc. where the bumper was.

About the car preview thing, they should let you see it before buying it. I don't mean an image, but a 360, walk around it type of thing. Imagine going into a Mazda dealership and looking and interacting with a Mazda MX-5 or a Mazda 6 etc. Then when you've bought it you can see the car in your garage and see mods like intercooler etc. That would be heaven. PD don't have any hardware excuses this time around because the PS3 has plenty of power. If PGR on XBOX 360 can do it, then theres no-excuse why GT on PS3 can't do it.

All I can say on this is it seems much more appropriate than what NFS would display. I would enjoy just sitting and staring at cars, admiring their beauty so this would be a dream come true from PD. I imagine this is quite possible with what, 50 GB of storage space available per disk? Hell like citrus said if they can do it in PGR with 7GB!

This and some REAL tire smoke/patches...mmm :P Take your time PD make it perfect!
