Prius Gauges

I have just bought the Toyota Prius Touring Selection from the Toyota dealer today, and drove it around Midfield a bit. It's a nice car - definitely not a sports-car, but nice to drive.

However, it is a bit odd. All the gauges are totally different than any other car that I've driven. It has a meter that gets slower the more speed I gain, a battery, some funky displays. What the heck? Can anyone explain some of them?

But that CVT sounds nice.

One gauge is the fuel economy - which I believe is measured in l/100km and gets lower as you go slower. The battery is to indicate when you're running with the battery (acceleration) and when you're charging it (braking).

It has been mentioned before a couple of times, something like how the power was delivered to the wheels under acceleration and braking, but I'm not sure...

That would be the actual speed.

I searched, but couldn't find any explanations for those animations on the left. I only noticed they change when braking, idling, off-gas or acceleration...

Never driven the Prius on this, and I was always convinced it was the Hyrbid that had the funky displays lol..explains why I thought they'd been taken out.

The animations are power flow, engine to wheels, battery to wheels, engine to battery, or wheels to battery (coasting). Lets you know when you're being "inefficient." The two Priuses are slightly different, also.

See the thread, Prius Mileage on the 'ring for and exercise in [im]practical efficiency.

Yes the Prius is the only car (correct me If I'm wrong), that has custom gauges. I wish PD had given cars that have digital gauges in real life, like the RX-8, digital gauges in the game.

Well, instead, you have both digital and analog displays for all cars. However, the analog one is always the same, so on a Fiat 500, you'll barely see any movement, and on the Minolta (or any other Le Mans car or super-high performance car), it'll stop moving. So I just look at the digital one - it's faster.

Wow, I had no idea about this Prius information. I'll have to check this out, and that 'Ring link as well.

So is it just the newer Prius that is available from the dealer or does the older model that you can find in Used Lot II have this feature also?

Does anybody know if the Prius get tire wear? I am asking because I wanted to see the gauges so I go buy one and drive it and I notice no tire wear. Also I am in track meet mode.

EDIT: Nevermind I noticed where the lines go are the wheels, so that is your tire wear.
