Private Lobby ---- Tire temp/wear

I'm in an online racing league. So far we've been racing in Public Lobby but to avoid uninvited guests entering and messing up the race we're thinking of switching to Private Lobby.

The tire wear/temp physics are slightly different in Private comparred to Public lobby (another PD surpise). In Private tires don't heat up in the same way as in Public. Also tire wear seems to be more dependant on temp, ie hot tires wear quicker and cold slower comparred to in Public.

Some also some state there is "a bug" in Private. Randomly after a pit stop, tire temparature stay can cold and will never get worm. When this happens, the affected driver will have no chance as lap times are seconds slower on cold.

Any insight on this subject. I'm especially interested in "the bug" if any of you have noticed it.

I posted this also in the "Online racing forum". But "Tuners" have in many cases a better insight in the game physics so I wanted to get input on this subject from this great crowd too.

Hope you understand. Thanks

The only bug I've encountered in a private lobby is with the clock and the split times. On many occasions either my friends or I have received some crazy 'split' times of maybe 30 or 50 minutes either up or down. Even though we're doing consecutive laps in cars we're familiar with.

Haven't noticed the tyre issue at all, I use my private lobby alot and people in the race series I run often come in for setup or tyre wear work i.e. practice sessions, we're like a little community who help each other.

No-one to my knowledge has had these issues with tyre wear or a dramatic change in car behaviour between private lobby and online random room.

We have alot of problems with cars 'loosing' their setups - someone will tune a car the day before our race series, get to the first race and the car is nothing like what it was in practice - check settings, and the setup from the previous night has gone, it simply was 'saved' or 'remembered' by the game.

Tyres are another issue, many people including myself have had one type of tyre on the car in practice, when we go to race the next day, the cars has 'defaulted' back to stock tyres.

Sometimes people I know have said they're cars 'feel' different between free run and an actual online race, lap times are definately slightly different in my opinion, not much though - races are a second or two a lap slower than practice runs.

We run alot of practice races so people can see the affect of setup changes on tyre wear, the lap times are definately slower in race than free run.

Differences between private lobby and random room, not so sure to be honesst, I haven't experienced what you've posted - sorry. I spend alot of time in my lobby and also in online lounges and haven't noticed what you've mentioned to the affect you've stated.

All I know is what I've posted above.

Thanks for taking time and answering.

We done some further testing. I can confirm that there is a bug in private lobby but we found a solution.

If you open a Private lobby room the tire wear/temp has a different model compared to Public lobby. The tires don't heat up in the same way, there is overall less grip, the car will handle differently, and lap times will be slower.

But if you change track and then change back to the original track, then the Private lobby will be exactly the same as Public lobby.
