So I won the Buick Special 62 Sema car and started using it in B-Spec for a few races. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why my driver was having such problems in the turns. Then I took it to GT Auto. It needs something like 362K worth of chassis maintenance to fix it. Is that normal for a prize car? I know I raced it a couple of times myself before I let Bob 1 take over but 362K seems like a bit much. Anyone else have a similar problem or experience? I have been assuming that all of the prize cars I get were good to go when I got them, not lemons.

Prize cars should be new check it in your garage and see how many miles on it. Beyond that he probably is just not used to the car, or it has stupidly high hp and the b spec race forced him to use comfort tires or something silly.

  • EVERY car you drive once becomes eligible for chassis maintenance.
  • The price of the chassis maintenenace is always in the same relation to the shop price.
  • The car probably just isn't very easy to control as a race car and therefore your driver can't handle it when too much in the red.

Fazit: Prize cars are always in mint condition.

The price of the engine overhaul and stiffness renewal is a set price based on the car, its likely that you will only drive a car once and the option will become available, it doesnt mean it will make any difference or be worth doing at that point.

My Minolta Toyota 88C-V car did over 7000 miles before it needed engine and chassis work, costing 1million credits, but the option was available from the first race i used the car, still at 1million credits.

I just scratched my Toyota 7 a little and now GT Auto charged me 500k cr for a chassis maintenance...and that was its first tryout!

Just because you CAN redo the chassis doesn't mean you NEED to. I routinely go 1,000 miles between rebuilds with no ill effects.

If you use a new car once, do one lap and touch nothing, it will still say it needs a chassis refresh. Try it.

As spapadillion says, Just don't do it unless you feel that the car needs it.
