Prize Cars...WTF mate?

Is anyone else disappointed with the prize cars in GT5? I understand that the developers didn't want to make this game easy, so they didn't allow the prize cars to be the best cars in the game, but come on....most of the prize cars are just despicable. They just plain suck. Does anyone else see my problem? I mean they are mostly 80's collector cars if anything. Rarely do I get any 90's cars, especially ones that are nice. Please someone agree...

You gotta love getting the DN-X concept car. Especially when thats your ticket 1000 car... They do suck. You do all the work, and you either get a garbage car which you cannot sell, or trade because everybody has one, or you get a car that will fetch you 50p by selling it.

What about that fireblade you win after working so hard in the FGT comp. In my quest to find the fgt i saw that fireblade pop up several times in the ucd. I dont know about others but i worked up a sweat that would rival a boxer while doing it.

Nope I am fine with them, I like to buy the cars I want in the colour I want and prefer cars I usually wouldn't buy.

i agree!

these prize cars should of been cars that you can get nowhere else!

i got got the luxus racing concept for doing the 4hour nurburgring and whislt this is a good car... i have already owned 1 since day 2 if it was a car that i couldnt buy anywhere then the value of it would be significantly increased

I I understand that the developers didn't want to make this game easy

well they failed at that 2.. im most cases you can enter cars that are way above the pack, then you can upgrade these cars and the ai doesnt stand a chance

they needed to put tyre restrictions in... something!

Yeah right, Zonda R, F40, the minolta, SLS , Lexus concept, original GT40, GT40, GT40 spec II, Mazda Furai, HKS CT230R, GT by citroen race car, Alfa Romeo Giula TZ2, Toyota Castrol Tom's Supra 97, Amuse Nismo 380RS, Shelby Cobra 427, 2010 Juan Montoya Impala, Fairlady Z Concept LM RC, Dodge Viper GTS Team Oreca, Toyota 7, and I could go on.

Honestly I remember more good than bad cars, sure there's some comon crappy car, especially in the hardest challenge, but it's ok. And the one that you find crappy might appeal other people. Not everyone got the same taste, for example I love JDM car and couldnt care less of european exotic.

The only problem i have with some of the prize cars is that chances are you may have bought one already ,i just completed the German Touring Car Championship and won the BMW Turbo , a car that i've had in my garage for ages and i also have a Fireblade which i know i'll win eventually aswell , that's a bit annoying.

QFT.

I would definitely recommend checking the Prize Car List before spending money on expensive cars early on. I bought a Zonda R at 2.6mill because I really wanted one. Now I just received another one for free after finishing a silly b-spec championship.

I also have two Ferrari F40's, two BMW 2002's and three Shelby Cobra's. Bought the first one of each and the rest was prizes/tickets.

My fireblade Caterham can run with supercars like the Veyron and S7,...
It's an awesome 300 kg little car, with a tuned up bike engine and fantastic handling!

It seems pretty rare in used cars too...

I thought getting two Midgets, for the A spec AND the B spec Pickup race was verging on insulting. Winning one would have been quite sufficient. Oh the "generosity" of PD!

This, I bought mine did not wait for the prize.

But really, another "I'm disappointed" thread, how many do we need?

The only bad prize car is the Honda City Turbo II '83, that is given in the Expert Series for the B-Spec Turbo Race(s).

1000 Ticket... a Kubbelwagon

Firstly, I already had one.
Secondly, that's not a prize, it sucks.
Thirdly, it was sold instantly.

I love that car. It won me some rally races back in the GT4 days.

Excellent points, and that Alfa Romeo that you win in B Spec is coveted a whole lot more when you realize that even though it has less than 200 horsepower, it is worth 10 million and you got it for free! :)

Yeah I have to say that the prize cars suck ass!

+1. Occasionally you get a good one (like the Furai for the B-Spec Roadster Cup and the Minolta Toyota for Like the Wind), but most of them are ready for the scrap heap. Some of them are almost sadistically bad (thinking of the Midget you win for either Pick Up Truck race).

I am fine with the prize cars. What I am frustrated about is that they disabled multiple prize cars as seen in prior versions of GT. I think it would be cool if there was a random prize generated after winning a series. For example, after PD Cup, you get a random car that is at level 17. I find that the money and xp are more valuable than a free car.

I'm fine with lame prize cars, hell, I ain't paid credits for em so whatever. What really grinds my gears however, is the fact that not all of them can be sold. I wish PD could add an option where you got to take the car or a 'cash alternative' (even if it's less than the value of the car).

I've golded the B n A licence tests so far, and the prize cars for them have been great. The ASpec prize cars I win are nothing special so far, I did get Montoyas NASCAR which was awesome in the special event.

most of the cars are good, but there some that really get on my nerves i have been concentrating mostly on b-spec but because i have 2 days off from work i decided i would do some enduros spent 2 and half hours going round laguna seca just to win an ifiniti coupe which i already have. I don't mind the prize cars i been getting but the enduro ones could be a bit better maybe some of the more expensive cars so we don't have to grind for years on end just to buy a lambo miura for 20 million credits or others that i could mention

Some prize cars are really worthless. You spend time and efforts on a racing series to be rewarded.... a Daihatsu Midget D.

It seems to be worse the more you go up too. Some of the extreme series "prizes" are really not worth the effort.

This is a pretty good idea. 💡 Would encourage more trading too. 👍 Hell, I'd even take a paint chip or two over some of these junkers.
