In GTPlanet there is usually a thread for the discussion some of the bigger Tours but what about the others? What about the other things in the Cycling world? This is a thread for the discussion of everything related to road cycling. Who won the latest pro tour competition? How is the Tour of you country? Which team does that cyclist goes next year? This is a thread for discuss that things.
Apart form this thread there could be thread for the bigger Tours: Giro d' Italia, Le Tour de France and la Vuelta a España when is time for them.

The AMGEN Tour of California was outstanding. The mountain stage was in my hometown. 👍

Is this specifically about competitive cycling?

I (road) cycle and like to talk about it but there's a biking thread for that so I was wondering what the difference would be between the 2? Perhaps ask mods for a merge?

@machate-man, that's an awesome looking bike there, I wish I could get my hands on something like that.

I think this was intended to be a discussion about the professional sport of road cycling, instead of a general thread about biking like the other one.

Exactly. This is for the professional sport. And talking in that the Tour of Pologne starts next week and it is a Pro Tour event. The Tour of Portugal also starts next week but the only Pro Tour team here is Lampre and it is a smaller competition. Its one of the biggest from continental tour but it isn't very big. :indiff:

I see the difference in the two threads and think they should be separate but the title for this thread needs changing to reflect it's about professional road racing.

I don't know a lot about road racing to be honest, although I cycle a lot. Last year I read Lance Armstrong's autobiography and it was a really good read. What amazing things the man has over come. He does come off as a bit stuck up but I guess that's the attitude needed to win all those Tours. I can definitely recommend it, but I can't remember what it's called!

The second stage of the Tour of Pologne is over. There was a massive crash inside the last 3km and the peloton reach the finish with just a few cyclists. The winner was Marcel Kittel by the second time in two stages. He was and still is the yellow jersey. I just saw the end of the stage but since this was a sprint finish stage I think that nothing important happened before.

This Tour of Pologne is starting to be boring. Another win for Kittel. Maybe tomorrow things will change.

And finally Kittel doesn't win! Victory for Peter Sagen after a great attack in the last Kilometer. And Am I the only one that is watching the Tour de Pologne ?

Daniel Martin gets the yellow jersey by just 3 second over Peter Sagan today. Will Martin win the Tour de Pologne again? What do you think?

I'm saying the original name. The name they call it in their country. When was the Tour de France I called it Le Tour de France and not the Tour of France.

EDIT: Kittel won again! Sagan finished second so he is the winner of the year's Tour de Pologne (Tour of Poland).

More news of the cycling world:
Quick Step and Omega Pharma merge next year.
The end of HTC-Highroad. In which team will Cavendish and his lead out train be next year? As well as Tony Martin? What do you think?

He had suffered from a progressive testicle cancer for a couple of years following his diagnosis by his doctor and thought to be desperate to come back on his road racing career again, genuinely astonishing what had he decided to do after his discharge and then accomplished his 7-times win of the competition in 7 consecutive years, which is far unachievable.
