Hello all, brand spankin new to the forum. Unless you count the account I used when I was 8...
I'm having a big problem. I really hope it's fixable. I stopped playing GT5 a while ago, but I recently learned how easy it is to hack cars. Now, don't get me wrong, I hate the assholes in lobbies using hacks to get ahead as much as the next guy, but I figure since I stopped having fun on this so long ago, I might as well, for my own enjoyment.
I want to milk every last bit of fun I can have, and this seems like it'd give me a good 6-12 months of customizing. The main thing I wanted to do was engine and drivetrain swaps, money, wheel offset, camber, and other suspension changes. The fact I cant adjust my wheel fitment made it... just not the same as real life, I'll put it that way.
I had 2.15 until about an hour ago. I wanted to put 2.11 back on, so I deleted my game data. I only deleted one thing, the actual game data. I'm unsure if I need to delete other things.
I went back to try and re-install the updates, and it gets as far as saying that 2.16 is available, and when I hit OK, for a few seconds it says "please wait..." then it goes blank for a few secs, then it beeps three times. Then it stays blank for about ten more seconds, and restarts to the XMB like nothing happened.
If it's unfixable... well damn, it sure sucks, but I don't really play it much anyway. all the more reason to mod GT6. I won't take any 10000hp cars online, but I'll at least make them look nicer, and THEN go online to show them off. (Is there anything wrong with that?)
I looked for a direct download of all the patches on the laptop, but came up with nothing. If these are available, please, PLEASE let me know.
It's a PS3 Slim, 160GB if it's of any importance.
tl;dr my ****'s broke, ive searched, and I need help.
EDIT: I got it. While I don't know if I've solved my problem completely, I got it to at least start updating. I'm on the first one, so it may take a while. Instead of starting the game, and then it TELLING me to update, I went to the game in the XMB, hit triangle, and hit check for updates. I'm just happy I got it to start...
