PS2 slim PAL, with swap magic.

Running on a Full HD Sony Brabia and ebay components video cable.

I played NTSC with normal cable OK, and I can see 480p OK (with component video cable).

I tried setting complet screen and 16:9 screen in the PS2 configuration but the problem* continues.

The *problem is that with 1080i (when is activated the 1080i) the game doesn't fill all the screen, there are black borders on the laterals, so the 1920px are compressed and the image don't looks good.

Any idea how to fix it? Thanks!

Are you set to widescreen on the system settings AND on the in game settings? Try that, and then turn on the 1080i.

I have the same problem, so I just use 480p, and it looks better, because there is too much interlacing, and too many black bars, and sometimes HD lag
it seems like the PS2 can't handle 1080i:dunce:

I try Full screen and 16:9 too in PS2 settings, an 16:9 in the game obviously.

I dont like 480p, I prefer normal.

PS2 for some reason wont put out a high rez picture , and HD on it is to flakey dont no why GT4 was 1080p ready , looks good on a PS3 60GB better than most early 360 graphics!

One possible cause may be because GT4 1080i didn't really output in 1080i, so your TV is throwing fits when the signal comes through.
