problem with xp serial

Ok, so i want to reisntall windows xp, but i have one minor problem, i dont know my activation code/key or whatever. is there any way to find it and if not is there anyway to get a new one?

It isn't listed on the side of your case or on a manual at all? That would be a problem. The only way to get a new registration code is to repurchase XP(that I know of).

You'll need your CD-key as well. Right click on My Computer, the Properties. Under the "Registered To" field will be the cd key.

You could re-order a new "licence" from Micro$oft, which costs $184.00 USD.

Your just better off buying a new copy of Windows. I think you can get XP pro for $65.00 dollars now on Amazon.com.

If you don't want to do that. And I only reccomend this if you have patience.

2 words: Tech support. They could possibly set you up with a new key? I dunno.

Yeah, I reinstalled windows XP a few months back. Hunted high and low for the activation key, only to notice it stuck on the top of the case!

thanks everybody for your help, i found it, it was at the back of my cupboard were i keep all my computer manuals lol i guess i missed it

ok umm lol now i have a new problem...ive just reinstalled windows and its saying that ive got no sound card...im guessing that i have to install my sound card drivers but i dont have any...is there like a site where i could find them...my sound card is a c media card...

If you know the actual name of your company of the soundcard, try searching on Google for their site. They should have drivers for it...unless your sound card is old and outdated.
