well i bought an hdtv and composite video cables for my ps2. i have the cable connected properly on my hdtv and the composite video setting on the ps2 set correctly. in gt4, when i set the progressive scan mode to either 480p or 1080i, the tv just says 'no signal'. i read through the manual and everything is set up properly. is there something im doing wrong?

details:
dynex 37" LCD tv
mad catz universal composite video cable (wii, ps2/3, xbox 360)
scph-30001

there was a big difference when switching from vga to composite, but the game looks no where near hd (no signal, when switching progressive scan modes). if someone can help me out, that will be great 👍

Do you mean component cables?

You need component cables (green, blue, red for video; white, red for audio), not composite (yellow for video; white, red for audio). There's not enough bandwidth for higher resolutions with composite cables.

What he said. You'll end up with 5 connections to the TV.
Progressive scan or HD requires component cables.
