Hi guys,

it seems I found unfortunately a further bug in GT5 :guilty:

I tried to get the 2-player splitscreen startet. For that effort, I connected my PS2 controler via adapter (to USB) to the PS3. With a lot of different other games, this worked always, without problems. But in the very-special-super-duper-GT5
With the second controler connected, I can choose the car and the driving options, but when the race starts, nothing works! None of the buttons of the controler give any reaction. (2nd Player). After canceling this, I try to restart, and the PS2 (2nd Player) works without any problems in the menu, but again NOT in the race???? :grumpy:

Do I am allowed to curse PD an Kaz at this point :ouch: :grumpy: 👎

Changing the the 2nd-controller layout won't help, because I didn't got any reaction before.

Also I tried of course to change the setting for the wireless PS3 controller, without success.

Does anyone know help? (except of the comment "just buy an expensive PS3 controler-... remember I have already an working PS2 controler, but the bugy-GT5 does't care .

Hi guys,

Did you make sure there are only *two* controllers active. Try this: turn off all PS3 controllers and unplug all wheels. Plug in/turn on only the two controllers you want. See if that works.

Several times my son has plugged in the second wheel only to have it unresponsive. Turns out there was a PS3 controller turned on. My g27 was #1, the PS3 controller was #2, and the DFP was #3. Looks like gt5 only likes #1 and #2.

Please could you report back if you get the second PS2 controller working?

I get the game in a few weeks (currently working out of the country) and will be keen to play split screen asap - I will get a second PS3 controller ordered in advance if there is no way to get the PS2 controller working.

Cheers

When you say "ps2 controller", btw, what are you describing? A wheel?

I have a new g27 and an old Driving Force Pro (a PS2 wheel) both hooked up. Works great for split screen 2 player battle.

I have had the same issue. I even tried using my PS3 controller in as second controller and it still doesn't work! All I can get working is the joysticks, regardless of which controller I'm using. I've tried remapping the buttons and it seems L1 and R1 kindof work but only for a split second then stop responding. otherwise none of the buttons work while in a race, not even start and select.

So I've basically narrowed it down to something to do with Gran Turismo 5. Because the second controller works for everything else.

Anyone with a theory on this would be more than welcome.

Super frustrating.
