The U.K.’s AutoCar magazine has published the first photos of the Prodrive P2 concept, which is scheduled to make its first public appearance at this weekend’s Autosport International Racing Car Show in Birmingham. In December, Leftlane News published the first official drawings of the P2, released by Prodrive. At its core, the P2 uses a 345 hp Subaru Impreza STi engine, transmission and four-wheel-drive system, to which Prodrive has added its own active handling system, ATD, and an engine turbo anti-lag system developed from its SWRT program. The P2 has a top speed of 174 mph and can reach 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Blazin's Note: Absoultely beautiful piece of engineering and design. I want one in my driveway right now.

DAAAAYYYYYUUUUMMMM!

I had heard a rumor about this. Glad it's looks match its performance, though the front end looks a bit odd.

It's basically an Impreza in supercar form, it'd be sweet if they built it.

I really like that, I've seen the concept sketches already but it looks so much better there.

Too busy and crowded. But this is supposed to be a rally-ish car, inspired by Subarus of the past, which makes sense.

Saw the sketches, and I gotta say: great execution. 👍

Just incase anyone doesn't know why the car is called the P2 and not the P1, ProDrive already have the P1 it's called the Subaru Impreza P1 and it was tweaked heavily by ProDrive, was still sold as a Subaru though. They're basically putting this car as the Impreza P1's sucessor.

Damn the P1 was a nice Impreza, and I think its better lookin than the 22B.
Anyway on to the P2, and I gotta say I do not like how short it is, shame, cause some angles make it look good.
Either way, given the choice, I'd take the Impreza P1 over the P2

Front lights look off something off a ford. Cant really comment on the car as a whole as I dont know the price. Interior has quite a bit amount of cheap plastic but depending on the price and that this doesnt look like a everyday car it shouldnt matter.

Anti turbo lag system? So they're going to make it dump fresh fuel and air into the exhaust and burn it there, on a road car?

Another great car destined for the European market with a slim-to-none chance of comming to the US... GREAT!

Its an engineering marvel, and it deserves all the credit it will undoubtedly get... Major kudos go for the use of the STi powerplant, and same with the estimated performance figures. Cant wait to use it in PGR3 (assuming its a downloadable model at some point...)!

Hmmm... wonder how much the conversion would cost? Is it a bespoke chassis or basically a Subie in drag?

Knowing Prodrive's rally experience, it's likely a tube-frame and carbon fibre or a carbon fiber tub.

That thing looks like a ricer's wet dream. I know I want one.

It's not a conversion, it's a proper production car, I've not heared anythind specific about the chassis but I wouldn't be suprised if it wa an Impreza chassis, it is the sucessor to the Impreza P1 afterall..

According to evo magazine:
"Prodrive has thoughtfully worked out a potential price for the car - about £40,000, if it were to go into limited production, which it won't..." :( such a shame

ProDrive have stated that they're pretty intent on making a production run of the car.

40k sounds just about right... that's near 60k US? Just slots in under "cheap" sports cars like the Vette and the Tuscan, while delivering supercar pace and grip... hell... they should produce it. I'll order one and pick it up in twenty years when I have the money.

This prodrive got me thinking about ultimate cars, this one is a good contender.

If they had the engine in the back, and a sexier body, but if we're going that far...

Hmmm...Gimme a Ruf'd Porsche Cayman S, with variable front/rear/left/right torque split AWD, twin turbocharged, and slathered in CF.
