Professional Racing Leagues

What about professional racing leagues, with more features than the amateur leagues?

FEATURES WOULD INCLUDE

1. Numerical system
2. Sponsors
3. Salaries
4. Scheduling system
5. Regulations on performace and vehicle type
6. More cars and laps per race
7. Flags
8. Pit stops
9. Realistic accidents and breakdowns
10. Commentary
11. Qualifying

That would be nice alltho I don't see that happening to fast especially the commentary. I would love to see the qualifying back tho and it's very likely we'll see more cars in a race too (Vision GT anyone ;) ) The only GT without pitstops was the first one (you had to change tyres and refuel in the endurance races in GT2 ;) ). The damage would be a nice addition too. Regulations on performance and car type are also allready in the game (even GT1 had that) and by salaries do you mean a set amount of credits every few days that increases once you progress in the game? Or do you want to recieve credits for evey time you win a race? The latter is allready in the game ;) and the former would be a bit stupid imo unless you run a raceteam. I'm not sure what you mean by scheduling system.

Salaries: I mean a salary that you get at the end of the season.

Performance/Type Regulations: I mean not having to race a Subaru Impreza against a Dodge Ram. They are different types, therefore they wouldn't be in the same race. Also: no racing Honda Preludes against Daihatsu Midgets in the Japan race due to power differences.

Schedules: You have a set schedule to follow. For example, if GT5 had a Grand National Series, you would go to every NASCAR oval.

Pitstops: I mean that is when you would ever have to make pitstops. Damage on the 2 lap races would be cosmetic, and tires and fuel would not be a factor. Only on the 20+ lap races would you have any reason to pit.

salaries: so you mean the bonus you get when you win a championship?

regulations: I don't like that I prefer the current system and if you don't want to race a midget with a prelude just watch the preview to see what kind of cars you race against and by a car from that class

schedules: there isn't any nascar oval in the game, besides if there where enough ovals in the game to fill an entire championship pd would probably allready include a nascar-like championship and let you only drive on ovals ;)

pitstops: I'd also prefer that you only have to go to the pit in 20+ lap races.

I agree with the whole pitstops thing. Realistically, you wouldn't need to pit for at least 20 laps. Unless you got in a wreck or you fried your engine -- something along those lines. More realistic tire wear.

As far as regulations go: Similiar car types (HP and car type)in competition. No Imprezas vs. Rams, or midgets vs. preludes. In fact, just lose midgets altogether.

Flags & such don't sound like a bad idea. Drop the 5 sec. penalty system. For bad driving, implement a fine system. That'd keep people in line.

I got a better idea... How about realistic damage?

If you damage your car, then you gotta use your money to fix it.

However, realistic damage should be disabled for Beginner races so no one gets stuck without any money.

I like the fining for body damage idea. Even if damage is not rendered, you could have a damage bar (á la Sega GT 2002). Damage fines would only be implemented on the hour long races. I have never done the driving missions, but if the 5 second penalties are as annoying as they sound, dump 'em.

Yes, definately. Realistic damage & fines for damage -- those would be an excellent addition in GT5.

How about more realistic car physics. Being able to spin out the competition, and them to be able to spin you out too.

Fined for that kind of driving.

A seasonal points system -- sorta like nascrap -- race all season long, and win or lose, you'd still have a chance at winning the points series.
