unless your under the age of 10 your chances at formula one are slim. extremely slim. I missed my chance as I turned 18 in the middle of the red bull driver search after i won my division. so i was technically disqualified from thier search but will have other teams at some of my races watching me and red bull will pay for them to come and meet me and such.
But you will first need an SCCA Competition license which is racing school, also then you will want to do multiple private driver schools and drive in whatever you can get in on a national competition level. the SCCA Nationals is a good place to start to build background. I plan to move from making my appearance at the runoffs either this year or the next and then into SPEED World Challenge, and maybe ALMS.
But you need to know people, and they need to know you, you need to be faster than everyone else and by alot. you need to show alot of talent and alot of money unless your really really good than you can get by on less.
You will need regional and national championships under your belt and you will need to be very active.
Fully funding yourself to get yourself into a professional team would cost you almost $200,000. Because you first need a racecar or a ride in one, and you need to travel and pay for alot of different things. Also you need to pay for schools, and SCCA national events cost alot of money and you will need money to get a ride on a team unless your fully sponsored. You need test days and such as well they cost money unless your really fast.
Im hooked through my local BMW dealer and my cousin who currently drives in SPEED World Challenge and ALMS. as well as some supplementary Red Bull things like letting teams know about me and such. So my fees were much less, much much less. since all the cars were free for me and I know the right people.
Its a very difficult process. Good Luck
