Project: time trial with all cars (stock conditions).

I'm a huge fan of setting up competition between cars.
I will race with all driving aid off (except ABS on 1).
The cars will have stock conditions and default stock tires.

I will race minimum five laps, of a race track: the track is still undecided. (In the future i might add more tracks). I need to set at least 3 valid times.

My first question is: would people be intrested in the results? (I'm an average driver, idon't have all the time in the world (family and work), but i have a lot of dedication: I enjoy this kind of competition more than racing agaisnt other people).

My second question. I will buy the colelctor edition. Would you be intrested more in the performance of the anniversary cars? 25 cars x 5 laps x different tracks? Or would you be intrested more in buying the cheap cars from the dealer. (I will spend my 1 million credits on the cheapest cars from the dealer.)

My last question is: what trackwould fit the best? Personnaly i would test them on trial mountain or Spa but I'm not sure yet. Nurburg is too long.

If enough people are intrested i will prepare a new topic that i can post when the game is released.

It would be a great reference point, but to be honest without some standardized base to compare results there's no way to tell how well a car fares against other cars in the same class due to power, weight and handling differences. If you were to group cars into PP benchmarks it would make the results much more meaningful to me.

I like doing time trials too. I had a big notebook for GT4 time trials in the past. Too bad it is lost. =(

But I started doing time trials for my GT5-Garage project.

Not a lot of cars are tested right now. Only 20.

I'm doing this on the Nürburgring. Wish I had more free time like in the past though. xD

But yes, I'm interested to see your times too. And I'd love to see all cars. Or for a start, a comparison between the special models and their normal counterparts.

It's fairly easy to generate these results. All data will be stored in an Excel file. From that File you can add criteria and compare based on PP and other selection criteria.

In the long run i can make an analysis based on my results.

But if the cars are run at their native PP/Power/Weight, how do you compare cars? You have a Lambo at 551PP, a Ferrari at 565PP, a Ford GT at 570PP and an LFA at 540PP, how do you compare actual performance without first equating expected performance...aka....PP?

If I was choosing a track, I'd go for something short and relatively simple to try and minimise the effect of the driver. Probably Suzuka East, to be honest. Decent length straight, high and medium speed corners.

I'd consider Tsukuba, but it's so twisty I'm not sure it doesn't disadvantage power too much. Laguna Seca or Nurburgring GP Short would also be decent choices if you'd prefer a slightly longer track, although they both have corners that are very easy to blow and ruin your whole lap.
