From reading the forums, here is my understanding about fuel. I hope I have this right, if not, please correct me.
I'd like the ability to avoid carrying around extra fuel, by limiting the amount of fuel taken on at race start, and limiting the amount taken on in pit stops.
For example, right now I'm running a B-Spec 4 hour Endurance race in GT5 on the 'Ring. The factor that limits the number of laps between pit stops is tire wear. I can get 4 laps out of the RS tires. (Not that "RS", dummy!)
Four laps requires about 68 liters in the current car my Bob is using, so I'd like to only fill the car to, say, 70 liters rather than carry around 30 useless liters for the whole race. I don't really know that it'd make that much of a difference, but I'd like the realism of controlling such things. I figure that in a light car, the difference could be significant.
- All cars have a 100 liter tank.
- Fuel weight is taken into account by GT in calculating acceleration, braking, handling (and maybe even fuel consumption itself...)
