PS Neo + GT Sport = 3 Screens. Possibly?

I know I'm dreaming but if the PS Neo has 4k support, and will be able to produce 1080p gameplay for VR, then why not support three screens for GT Sport?

Although I think VR will be an awesome gaming environment I'd still prefer 3 screens. To be honest I would choose 3 screens at 720p over VR.

Nobody knows

If it's the same as with the last generation, you would need three consoles and games though.

I say it's very unlikely for the Neo to ship with support for three screens, it would make the whole thing more expensive.

You have got your Morpheus and Neo mixed up.

No, it won't be possible. Neo will definitely help though. I guess the game will be running at 90fps. GPU is twice as fast as PS4 and CPU, ram is some 20% faster according to leaked documents. It might also look little sharper.

Yeah I know it's not on the cards but why not? I mean how great would it be if we could run Gran Turismo on three screens... VR is the new buzz word but three screens would be awesome, maybe if VR doesn't pan out then we can start a real discussion to get three screens on the table.

I'm guessing that they'll do it the same as before, get three PS4s and three copies of the game and you can run it on triple screens. If you want better graphics then you'll have to do the same but you'll have to get three Neos.

It all depends on whether the PS4 Neo's GPU can support multi-monitor natively. Usually, in PC-land, you have to have separate graphics cards for each monitor IIRC.

URI...all cards I'm aware of that are even close to the specs to be able to consider triples have at least 4 video outputs. My GTX 970 has 6:

I'd say no. PS4 is currently 1.82 TF's. Neo is rumored to be just over 4 TF's. That just a shy over 2x the power, and the CPU isn't being upgraded. Same CPU with a slightly higher clock rate. The CPU won't be able to triple the draw calls that is required of 3 monitors.

I think that depends on how much CPU the game actually uses. If it only hits about 30% usage during the game, then there's a little bit of headroom to handle extra draw calls. However, if it's poorly programmed and regularly hits, say, 50% or above, then sure, I agree with you.

It might be able to do triples at 720p though.

Even then, that would still require 3 display outs. They wouldn't spend that much on PCB and ports for one game to use it at 720p.

They've upped the car count, improved physics and damage, increased resolution to full 1080p frame buffer and moved to a real time sound engine, as opposed to using filters on sound samples. I can't see that happening. Sorry for being a Debbie downer.

Lets think about a few things, you are a NEO owner, you have a 1080p 60hz TV. This will be a common international setup. So the game in this mode will not run above 60fps, it will not run above 1080p. In which case the graphical detail or number of polygons and scale sampling and AA will be really good....This will be a premium NEO experience..
For those with 4k TV it will detect this and give a higher res option, likewise for TV that have a higher refresh rate, it can try and do all those things until the point it reaches the frame rate of the base PS4 version.

The Neo doesn't have enough grunt to do 4k gaming.

"higher resolution" is mentioned. This does not have to be native 4k. 1440p perhaps. Or as seen on current gen, constantly adaptive resolution, 4k when nothing is happening on screen, but down to 1080p in range when things are under load (1080p to 720p current gen). There are various options here.
