I heard in a post that the old PS2 - has a Overheadting problem and a disk error read problem

Does anyone know the model number - i hope its not 30006 because thats mine and the shop person better have not coned me:irked:

Overheating? No, you can leave your PS2 for days and it won't overheat. The Disc Read Error seems to be on all versions of the PS2. It happens when a disc scratches the laser lens of the PS2. Read some of the FAQs at gamefaqs.com

I think that PS2s overheat more with age and overuse. Personally I think I'm gonna need a new PS2 soon, and thats not good since my warranty is out.

Maybe if the fan intake gets to blocked by dust, but otherwise I've never heard of any over heating.
I do hear about DRE's, but my guess is that most people don't realize that DVD players (which the PS2 is) are not portable devices because the lasers can be misaligned. (quite easily actually.)

People are forgetting that, especially with the mini-screen being sold for it, I'm sure people are using their PS2's in cars and stuff*bad idea!*
