So I'm hoping someone here might have some info or knowledge about this. I have a PS2 Slim and have no problems playing any of my games except GT4. I originally bought a copy on eBay and it didn't work, so I assumed it was the disc and not my system. Today I bought a new copy of the game and I'm having the exact same problem... if I "cold-start" (from "off" or the PS2 red-light) the system with the game in the PS2 it basically doesn't do anything... no screens for the PS2 or the game, just black screen. If I try and boot the game with the PS2 on by "resetting" the system after the disc is in, all I get is the "reading disc..." screen and it never goes away or even gives a disc-read error. Basically, no matter how I've tried to boot up the game nothing happens. And with both discs, new and used. I'm going to try and test the discs on my friends' PS2, but in the meantime I was hoping maybe someone has heard of this issue before. My PS2 Slim is the SCPH-70012 console, Browser 1.40, CD Player 2.00, Driver 1.11, DVD Player 3.10U, and whatever the MAC address is, it's 00:13:15:21:B4:CF, if any of that info might help (as I'm not sure if maybe there is a driver issue or something). If you can actually help, or need more info in order to help, please email me as well as post on here, as I'll check my email a lot more often (oneluvballer21@hotmail.com). Thanks for any possible help, as the Gran Turismo series is my all-time favorite game series... been here from the beginning, and would like to continue feeding my love for the game with GT4!

This has been discussed quite alot around here and if I remember correct, the problem lied with the slim PS2. Or it could be a damaged disc. What I recommend you is to perform a good search on the forums here, just click on "Search this form" on the top right 👍 Type in for example "GT4 load" or "PS2 problem" or "error", those might help. Keep us informed 👍
