Hi guys ! i'm a fan of the GT saga since the GT1 came out. I've played (and completed) the 4 first titles of the series as soon as they came out. But since some years ago, I've been through some economical troubles, and i couldn't afford a PS3. So i've never actually played GT5. Now, the problems are starting to get solved, and even though i still have a limited budget, i'm finally able to buy a PS3 when i get my paycheck next week.
But i have a problem. I don't know if I should buy the PS3 with GT5 since i've never played it and wanted to do it for years, or directly buy a GT6 copy with the console as soon as it comes out. I may be able to buy both, but i dont have that much free time, so it would be a waste of money.
So what should I do ? buy GT5 after years of dreaming of playing it ? or purchase GT6 ?

I would recommend buying GT6 since GT5 is outdated now. GT6 has most of the cars from GT5 and then some. It has improved physics with somewhat improved standard cars, so it wouldn't make any sense to buy GT5 now. 👍

Yea. Buy GT6, GT5 online and such are getting shut down soon, and plus you'll be with the times and not feel left out as you might have when you didn't have a PS3.

Grab GT6. It's a better GT5 - with better physics, better visuals, bigger car choice, better AI and LOTS and LOTS more. Head to gran-turismo.com for a better general idea of GT6's features :)

Also, like ninja said, GT5 is outdated (but still pretty damn good for its age).

Make certain to pre-order the game(GT6). This means going to the game store and putting at least 5 dollars down on the game. And if you're not good at looking after discs or have kids in the area the warranty is a thought too.

The bonus cars you get from the pre-order will save you a stupid amount of time grinding if not at the very least get you some recommend cars that won't leave you scratching your head as to how to beat a certain races. Make sure you do it before time runs out. Those 25 cars are worth it.

Buy GT6, then if you feel like you have missed out and still have the urge, buy a used copy of GT5 (which will be everywhere from Friday!) for just a few quid. Best of both worlds.

Just to add to this, once you play GT6 you'll never go back to 5. Most of us here has played the demo that they released this past summer, no one could go back to GT5
