PS3 Hdd backup via usb 3 dock

Hi, I have a HDD, I want to back up my entire hdd using this dock instead of over a usb drive (because this'll be faster and the PS3 doesn't like my hdds I plug in).

I've heard issues with accessing it, mostly it seems that if I bring the hdd online via MBR, when put back into the PS3 it won't work anymore, which is pretty scary.

Has anyone used GPT to any success? Or should I stay away from using windows, and use some other alternative disk cloning software?

You have to do it via USB with your PS3's hard drive in the PS3. The PS3's hard drive will only work with the PS3 that formatted it, nothing else can access it, so you have to plug in an external USB drive and use the PS3's backup feature.
