Hope that GT6 will get this as I have pre ordered a PS4 but will still be using my PS3 for GT6. Hopefully PD will allow GT6 to upgrade through this process should the title be released on ps4

"One of the announcements to come out of Sony’s keynote press conference at Gamescom 2013 was the reveal of a PS3 to PS4 upgrade program. The program will allow customers who buy certain digital versions of upcoming PS3 titles the opportunity to receive the correlating PS4 version at a reduced price. So far, Sony has announced Ubisoft, EA, Activision, and Warner Bros. as participants in the digitally-driven program. That means that the “significantly discounted price” will apply to the downloadable PS4 versions of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Watch Dogs. This offer is said to only be valid for a limited time."

The problem is that, unlike all the other games, there's nothing confirmed about GT on PS4 at all, let alone it being GT6. Just don't hold your hopes up.

Yeah i know I never get my hopes up but it would be nice if they do release it on PS4 to have this service

I am shocked by how sensible this sounds (and even more shocked I didn't know until now). Sure, I could be all cynical about it, but it seems like a good idea. At least as long as you get to keep the game without needing a subscription, or something... (which would be suicide if you're paying for it; "free" games on PSN Plus are different, I guess.)

Anyway, I had imagined that if there were to be a PS4 version (e.g. with the new sounds etc. we might not get on PS3) that there might be some, er, incentive.

Depending on how far away GT7 is and what other games etc. there are, I could see this being tempting at some point, should they actually do it for GT6.

For the millionth time. There's no GT6 for PS4. Not now, not ever. Simply put, not gonna happen because it makes no sense at all to have GT6 on both consoles. The reasons for this have been widely discussed but the main one is that it'd be a waste of resources and time. If they set up to make a GT for the PS4, they might as well begin to lay the basis of GT7.

I'm hoping that PD will move away from ps3 once GT6 comes out and concentrate on developing of GT7 on ps4. The most important thing that they gotta focus on is engine/car sounds. Kaz has told us that the development of GT7 won't take long as GT6 since ps4 is a lot easier for the game developers to work on.

This. Burn the bridges to PS3, please PD.

A new GT game on the PS4 won't be done before 2-3 years minimum in my opinion, they will probably redo alot of things and no doubt they will finally ditch the standard cars and tracks,so won't hold my hopes up for seeing GT7 before 2016 maybe.

But I hope they still update GT6 and maintain it like GT5.

There's no reason to think PD would make another GT for PS3 once GT6 is out. Making a GT game for PS3 after GT6 would be a colossal mistake and defies common sense. 2-3 years from now when the PS4 is established, of course GT7 will come out on it.

I'm just going say my reason why GT6 won't be on PS4.
GT1&GT2-PS1
GT3&GT4-PS2
GT5&GT6-PS3
GT7&???-You get the idea.

^This was already discussed in another thread, but I can't find it again. I know I read it though.

I see GT6 being on PS4 if the PS3 sales are bad, which we all know won't happen, GT always sells well, i don't mind it being on PS3 since i won't buy a PS4 until late 2014.

Yeah, I agree with you. It will take at least 2-3 years of development for GT7. Didn't GT5 take like 4-5 years to come out?

Well I saw this at GAME store and they are taking deposits for the pre order of GT6 on the PS4 so it may happen

Hoax or a joke, not true. If you follow GT6 news from sony then you should know that GT6 is only for PS3.

Game stores would take preorders now for GT12 on the PS6 if they could.

Lol Very true...

I do follow Sony and PD for news on GT Series and I am aware it's not been confirmed, It's was just something I came across when in store.

Why would they have to move away from the PS3 in order to focus on the sounds?

Well, that means they're scamming you because GT6 for PS4 was never "announced" as that picture says. Never has Sony or PD used the words "GT6", "PS4" and "confirmed". What a poor business ethics they have.

There not scamming me at all. I have not paid a deposit for it. I just thought i would put it on here for people to see. Wont bother in future....

Well, they don't strictly have to. By the sounds of things, they're struggling to get their new sounds working on PS3. These are the new sounds they've been working on for years, so I guess they're kind of committed.

If they can't be made to function on PS3, then they will have to wait until PS4.
They could have done things differently (quite how we won't know until the fullness of time), I expect, but we can only play with the hand we've got.

There's still time for a contingency plan on PS3, but I'm not expecting anything different from what we got with GT5, in terms of quality. It'd be nice if sample allocation were better (e.g. crossplane V8s get crossplane V8 samples for all states of tune, like the Tempest GTO and 8C), but I doubt that's easy to do at the last minute now. Perhaps they could put all the samples they have in their library on the disc, and attempt to patch the game up to snuff by successively pointing each car to the "right" samples in turn.

What I hope they can do is cobble together a special simulation and record samples from their new synth in an automated fashion. They get to use the new sounds (sort of) that the artists have been working on, but the production of the samples don't require too much manual attention (and hence deviation of attention from "the plan"). You need that "dyno / driving sim" to add a bit of variation to the samples (rpm / load, atmospherics etc.), otherwise it'll sound very sterile (even "steady" recordings have lots of variation in them), unless they can generate that variation to drive the current sampler. They'd have to find a way to pick out pre-defined "tuned" sounds, though, and assign them to parts combinations (I might be assuming too much about their new method now, though :))

It'd still sound broadly like GT5 that way (although maybe we'd get intake at last), given the samples are of the same bitrate and length, and number, but it'd still be an improvement in accuracy.

The irony of this "future proofing" lark, though, is that it is quite possibly the very thing which led to so many deficiencies in GT5! We have future proofed cars, future proofed sounds and future-proofed AI (those latter two only possibly coming for PS3) - but all of these things seem to be taking a long time to achieve.

They also have battlefront and mirror's edge. They were both shown without any release date and most likely won't be coming until at least 2015.

Thanks for posting, especially with a pic. Don't be discouraged by a few disagreeable opinions, it's par for the course here you just get used to it. We need guys like you here!! This is how we found out about Bathurst being scanned, Goodwood and many other things.👍💡

I feel like that will be a different game. If you're advertising something, you should put "Gran Turismo 6" not "GT6". Anybody know of anything that could share the same name?
