PS3 turns itself off after 9 hour race

Last night I ran the 9hr endurance race while I slept for the second time. Both times I have done this when I woke up my PS3 was off and no record of this race being completed. Any ideas why?

overheating?

or do you have powersave option enabled to turn it off after x amount of hours? i would think the game running would keep it form turning off, but maybe not.

I don't think it is overheating since I have it on all day and it never turns off while I'm physically using it. It might be the powersave option. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Sounds like it's set to turn off after an hour of not being used. In the XMB settings somewhere you can turn that option off.

kinda odd that regular bspec isn't considered activity and lets you ps3 turn off, while being in standby mode for remote racing will keep your ps3 on. i have mine set to power off after 3 hours, did remote races at work until about 3, and when i got home after 8 my ps was still on and in standby mode.

Mine was doing that and I realized I had my PS3 set to automatically shut off !

Mine's set to auto shut off after 1 hour and it runs multi-hour races in
B-Spec just fine. The longest I've run so far is 5 hours.

It's a slim, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
