PSN problem?

I wonder if the"anonymous" group that are claiming that they are out to protect our interests realise that they're really only doing what a small minority want and are really ruining things for the cast majority of users.

Oh you can't play online for some hours. :guilty:

It's a protest, not on the streets, online. What they want is attention & they have got it now for sure. :)

Here's a interview with one of the hackers, George Hotz aka. GeoH0t:

Still unable to log in to GT5 My Home website. I'm in WI, USA...

I was on all morning and early afternoon in the La Crosse region. You are the first person from Wisconsin I've seen on GTP:tup:

Man screw those hackers. I am trying to log into the psn forums to set up the races for tonight in our series and I better be able to log into my account tonight....

Well I just tried to sign into my psn and was able too. Still can't log into the forums over at Sony. Friggin hackers lol

Really crazy stuff going on, lot of theory's about the PSN being down, i would like to really know what's happening cause i'm a bit concerned about being hacked, i've done a lot of progress in GT5 and don't want to lose it :S

It's a DDoS attack, I don't think that they have stolen anything....yet.

I'm pretty pissed.
I was about to play the Socom beta, and while it was downloading an update, BAM
I logged out of PSN, and it won't let me leave the PSN log-in screen because it needs to finish/validate the update.
I can't even go to the XMB.
And I don't want to hard shut-off.
>:(

Maybe I should have been playing GT5 A-spec or something.

Sorry for the double post...

But seriously, this is a question we should ask. So what if someone hacks? They cant use PSN if its hacked because they have to do it on older firmware... So, yes, someone might be able to hack so they have every car or whatever, but what good will it do? I payed for the equipment, so I should be able to use it how I wish.

That isnt to say im not irritated about not being able to get to my B-Spec drivers' funds :/

My main concern in all of this is that they "Rule" the Sony company for now, and with it they can Fu&% the all PSN system and it can reach a point where all our accounts will be used/erased from the system, which wouldn't be a very cool thing.

When I saw the statement released by anonymous It seemed like they were immature, pathetic nerds. Turns out I was right, he's a 20 odd nerd that lives at home with his mum. But now he's going to prison and I have only 1 thing to say. Don't drop the soap.

I'm getting sick of seeing this attitude around the forums. Why should someone else be able to dictate when I can play my video games, that I bought with my own money. Yes, video games are not all that important but what if these people started controlling other things? Suddenly I'm not allowed to drink orange juice, only grape. Now I can only use blue or red pens on weekends. I'm required to spend at least one hour a week knitting.

Would that not start to get annoying?

That is pretty much the hackers argument about the consoles......

So you think thats wrong?

What i think is that when we buy a product we pay for all the rights, everything that came with it, and so we are able to free used, but of course within certain limits.

Like a very popular saying "Our freedom ends, where the others freedom's begin", and so until we reach that limit we are and should be able to do what we want.
The difference between this and what hackers are doing is that they are now reaching beyond their freedom limits, and are starting to interfering with other company's and so.

Think of this like a car, you pay for the car so it is your's when you have the key and the payment of it done, you are the owner of it so no one should tell you what to do with it, you can modify it, upgrade him, everything to reach its full potential, thats what hackers are trying to do although i think they shouldn't be reaching such a abusive limit.

Post on Playstation Life "the worst is yet to come" http://playstationlifestyle.net/201...laystation-lifestyle/comment-page-1/#comments

I couldn’t care-less for the fruit loops at Anonymous, GeoHot (honestly dude put your talents to good use) or even SCE for that matter.

But got to say this is a ridiculous campaign by Anon. I don’t agree with Sony pursuing the matter so aggressively and trying to cast such a wide net but how do you expect them to react??? Of course they are going to try and defend their intellectual property and their business model and ulitmately their shareholders investments.

Not only that but if you introduce hacked network machines into mix it will no doubt end up causing all sorts of stability problems with people attempting to over-clock their machines, run personalised scripts and the rest.

The broader community won't benefit from jail beaked PS3's in the long run, just a privileged few...

Further, GeoHot didn’t engineer the PS3, so why does he try and convince people that he’s some sort of freedom crusader. Please. Dude if you’re so smart go and design your own console architecture or software or whatever and compete on the open market for dev.funding like the rest of us have to....

And 'Takai' from Anon, who obviously see’s himself as some sort of Robin Hood leader of the virtual free world. Honestly, grow-up! You’re just p****ing innocent users off who have nothing to do with this and have no power.

Your crew is no better SCE. Fight it in the courts like the rest of us poor sod’s have to or even better, don’t support people who break the law in the first place!

A little piece of final advice, people are angry, I’d be staying VERY anonymous if I was you.

The error code 80710092 is a generic error that causes the user to sign out of their PSN account. This is usually due to the PSN servers are down or too busy to respond. This is remedied simply by waiting and trying again later.

I got this error message a few days ago and changed my DNS settings via the XMB. Even people on XBox Live were having trouble signing on that day, too. It worked afterwards, and have not had a problem till today when I got the 8071053D error.

The error code 8071053D is a similar error. However, this code is also known to be caused by a power issue with the PlayStation 3 unit itself, however this case is very unlikely here.

Error code 8071053D is supposed to be remedied by following a set of steps. However, I simply waited and the problem was resolved without doing anything.

So, if you get these error codes, or a message in GT5 stating "A connection to the server could not be established. (ID 2:0)", this is likely the cause of a DDoS attack as stated in a previous post. Just try waiting and try again later.
