GT-Motion
I am not sure what to get, this will be my first PSP, never owned one. I have played all the GT titles and love them, and I want a portable GT I can take anywhere. One of my favorite things to do is hot lap competitions with a few friends of mine, we used to do this at the shop with GT3 on the PS2, then I have been packing up my simulator for the PC and bringing it to the shop on occasion. I want a portable GT that I can just take thats easy that we can have fun with at the shop, car shows, track days (when not driving).

I don't know if I want the PSPBundle that will be silver on the 20th, the black PSP3000, or the PSP go. Can anyone tell me which would be best to get? The CNet review of the PSP go was 2 of 5 stars from the users, thats not too promising. Anyone got any tips?

If I was you I would get either the black PSP3000 or the PSP3000 GT Bundle, the PSP Go is overpriced and 🤬 so I would definetly go for the 3000, however, if you want a silver PSP and an exclusive white corvette zr1, go for the bundle, if not, get any colour of psp3000 you want and buy gt seperate

The price of the GO is pretty fair since it has 16gb built in. If you got a 3000 and a 16 gig card it costs about the same.

The GO also feels more solid than the 3000. The 3000 feels cheap since all the covers on the back have some jiggle room.

AND lets not forget that the GO works with PS3 controllers out of the box. No firmware hacks needed.

...$45 less. Its also questionable as to whether the Go will be any more reliable, because GBATemp opened it up and noticed that there is no metal framework in the Go, so its essentially held together by the plastic shell.

I'm sure most people will tell you otherwise, but the PSP Go is fantastic. Nice form factor, small and easy to fit in a pocket, built solid, loads of storage space, and the analog nub and buttons have a great feel to them. The ability to use a PS3 controller is a huge bonus.

I have had a PSP 1000 since launch day in March 2005. No matter what model you choose you won't be disappointed. It's like having a PS2 in your pocket.

Don't forget to add the cost of GT:PSP to the 3000 cost.

I bought the PSP3000 "Titanium edition" Gran Turismo bundle. The game is fantastic, and I would definately recommend it. The 3000 is a lot better than my old 1000. I should get a chance to use a PSP Go tomorrow (my mate bought one, I let him use my old PSP so he could register it for the 3 free games) and I will tell you what it's like. Personally I am so turned off by the high store prices. £32 for NFS:Shift??? It's ridiculous. Even GT is £22, and I could get it on play.com £5 cheaper. eBay also means that I have loads of old games that barely cost me anything, if I wanted to buy wipeout pulse on the store, that would be £15, it was £4 on ebay.
In short if you are prepared to pay really high prices for your games, then you can think about the Go. The only real positive thing I can see though is the enhanced portability. All the other features are just gimmicks, and the lack of UMD/smaller screen/cramped controls just make it such a no-buy. If it was cheaper, it would be like a PSP for people who didn't want to pay £150 or so, because they wouldn't play games that often, and would make use of the minis store etc. Instead it has become another way for sony to squeeze money from us gamers.
So sorry for rambling, I bet you didn't read it all now ;)

get the lilac colored Hana Montana PSP 3000!
Seriously, if the GTPSP bundle comes with a memory stick then get that. however I'm not sure if the GTPSP bundle is coming to the US or not. (Can someone verify this?)
If not then you can get a 4gb memory stick off newegg.com for as low as $35 shipped.

Yeah I think the US one is the one with a 2GB memory stick, which should be enough if you don't intend to watch movies or TV shows. The EU one had no memory stick, so I think that's right.

I got the Go and I'm loving it so far. Don't really understand the backlash. If you don't like it, don't get it. It's not like it makes your PSP-3000 obsolete and not cool anymore.

It depends buddy if you like the portability and can afford the higher cost the go is where I would go. The 3000 is just as capable and has a larger screen it is a bargain of which no one can deny.

Part of the problem is that Sony has offered the Go as the outstanding piece of awesome that solves all of the problems of the PSP brand (no UMD, rather cumbersome form factor) and has no compromises. And a lot of the previews of the system presented it in the same way as the PR did, completely ignoring that the biggest selling point of the Go has always been possible on the PSP anyways and continuing to not mention the problems with the system. So Sony is getting bitten on that because they (intentionally, no doubt) failed to mention that the Go offers very little on paper that the 3000 didn't already do, and that it is only better under certain circumstances. The gratuitous pricing isn't helping matters either, nor are a few absurd design decisions that the system suffers from.

The main part, however, is that digital distribution is very controversial (and likely always will be); so there are people who want the system to crash and burn because of that alone.

I've personally hated it ever since it was announced, and very little of Sony's actions since then haven't made it even worse in my eyes.

I for one as sure as hell wont be getting the overpriced PSP Go its $449 here in Australia for crying out loud for $50 more I can buy a PS3 Slim.

Ill be getting the PSP-3000 bundle going to be good cant wait.

I went to Gamestop by my house and the guy knows me there, since they open all of their new games he let me try out GT on a used PSP for free, kind of like a Demo. It was cool to try it out, but now I am thinking it may not be for me, its cool, but not $200 cool. :)

I'd go for the silver PSP 3000 bundle. (less visible fingerprints than the black)

I don't like the PSPgo because it doesn't have a user-replaceable battery.
