The eye tracking function looks to be something PD could exploit to manage the HUD. I would appreciate a feature where the HUD disappears when I'm not looking down, and reappears when I look down at a certain angle. A customizable HUD will also be nice.

Somehow you have intimate knowledge of that the VR update entails? Please share with all of us this top secret information you have obtained.

Also, don't speak for everyone. I am a fan of the game and don't care about any of that.
Pretty common knowledge by now about how eye tracking works. If you have an idea then...or...

And try not to tell others what they can and cannot do.

Are you a moderator round here? Wow

Right, but how do you know if the VR update already includes (or doesn't) eye tracking?

You are telling people that all fans of the game believe X, when that is categorically false. How is that any different from my request that I not be included in such a statement?

I'm not, but I can still stay when I don't want to be spoken for.

There's literally not one thing in his post where he presumed to speak for you, oh, and, foveated rendering,.....look that up 👍

I'm not sure what you are barking at, but clearly others have shown patience so I bring you this from an article from GTP just a few days ago. See? Now, what say you? Any interesting ideas on how this functionality could enhance GT7 experience?

The post says "fans want", it could say 'some' fans want, so I can see the interpretation of the statement even though it doesnt say 'all'.
Also even if there was no presumption implied, a reference to a general presumption could be mentioned as a counterpoint, by making it known that a fan or fans do NOT want the mentioned improvments and features, so it may be used as a caution rather than an accusation.
Possibly no need for any VR (red) mist here, if you pardon the pun, no pun presumed.

Indeed, forgot about the title header. Doesn't change the fact that chill pills are a viable option to de-stress.

If I may have not done my most judicious effort in my title, then perhaps he could just have been as civil as you and remind me that a the omission of 'some' is cause for a rebuttal.

Curious, how would you discern the remaining portion of his first post, where he has chosen his words so carefully?

Sry, this is not what I had hoped this thread would achieve...enjoy VR2 folks, it's definitely a pleasure...

A responsive HUD seems like a no brainer for VR and a customizable HUD would benefit all players.

Assuming of course that non-VR specific features would also be made available without a $550 add-on purchase.

What non-VR features are you thinking?...What comes to mind for me is, a toggle option mapped to a button to remove the HUD (or just the ability to keep the essentials) mid race. I don't need to see everything all the time and I can handle pushing a button once or twice a lap to see my wear.
Features that don't require VR hardware to implement. Like a fully customizable HUD for example.

And the VR showroom feature they're hyping up could easily be done on a TV display. It's basically GT's version of Forzavista.

Yea, PD should not sequester these features behind a $550 paywall...of course you do realize it cannot replicate the VR experience, but a solid attempt to make it available to everyone (to ALL the FANS) is the 'right thing to do' IMO.

Is PD thinking this way? Should they be thinking this way?

I'm not going to discount how PD may become opportunistic...but honestly, I can't see them creating 2 tiers in GT -- especially based on affordability. I think what can be done is, for us to hold their feet to the fire by stating how we enjoy or don't enjoy the game, and what improvements we desire.

Definitely need full HUD customization feature -- location, size, opacity, dimming...the whole lot.

One of the first thoughts that came to mind when I put on the headset was the desire to get out of the car and walk the track. Guess I could just crawl around on a kart...but it's not the same.

All I wish for is an optional toggleable HUD rev gauge, especially for cars that have hard to read physical gauges like the Citroën DS

Haven't played too much in VR yet, but here are my wishes after a couple of hours :

- being able to adjust the seat position / height in the cockpit

- being able to adjust the world scale / FOV

Why do you want to adjust the FOV?

I want whoever is in charge of the VR mode to boot up WipEout on PS VR1, take a look at the comfort options there, and implement every one on GT7. Then boot up Driveclub VR, see how it handles seat adjustment, and implement that too.

Not offering an option to lock the player to the car is just a huge miss. Perfectly fine to keep it as a default as it'll be more comfortable for new players, but it needs to be an option for those that want it.

in showroom or garage in vr mode, it would be great to start and rev the cars and e.g. move the steering. or is it already possible and i'm missing something?

Locked to horizon view needs to go away or be an option especially on high banked tracks like Daytona. It is completely unnatural. That track is basically unplayable in VR mode now.

In the race options menu when in VR, instead of the drivers view options being disabled, there should be new options to set drivers height and seating position letting the player move the head to the correct position press ‘OK’ then the player moves to the correct seating position press ‘OK’

That's just an idea to get world scale right. Have the feeling that the fov is too wide. Could be wrong though.
What is sure, is that the world scale is off. A setting to adhust it for each player sensitivity / likings would be really nice..

If your IPD is set correctly in the headset, the world scale will be 1:1. There's no need to have a setting for this.

I just want a headset with a wider FOV so I don’t have the goggles effect. 🙏🏻
Maybe Sony will enter into coorporations with Pimax for their next VR headset?...

Edit: But the people getting VR sickness will just increase with a wider FOV I think that is also one of the reason they kept the FOV at 110 so as not too give a ton of people VR sickness on day one...
