Hi
I've decided a dedicated post for purchasing the Wheel Stand Pro for Canadians. I did quite a bit of research and found that there was two places we can get this stand:
(1) Original European Site
Wheel Stand Pro Agent: Sebastian Bik
http://wheelstandpro.com/
*Uses Canada Post for delivery
*Canada Post only charges for Canadian Customs taxes
(2) US website
Wheel Stand Pro Agent: Dale Litton
http://www.wheelstandpro.us
*Only uses UPS
*UPS charges brokerage fee of around $44 for items of this value plus passes on applicable Canadian Customs taxes
In my case I did go with the US website with the understanding:
(1) There were no additional fees besides Canadian Tax
(2) Faster delivery of item
*Note: That I did inquire with wheelstandpro.us before the purchase but they did not mention the additional brokerage fee of $44.
Sample Bill from wheelstandpro.us
Logitech G25 G27 Gamer Wheel Stand - Deluxe $167.99 USD
Shipping via UPS to Toronto, Canada $ 31.38 USD
Canadian taxes from customs $ 21.45 CDN
UPS brokerage fees $ 44.18 CDN
After this little mishap I decided to contact wheelstandpro.com. Because I do intend to purchase more of these. My contact was Sebastian Bik. Sebastion quoted me the following:
Sample Bill from wheelstandpro.com
Logitech G25 G27 Gamer Wheel Stand - Standard $189 CDN
Shipping via Canada Post to Toronto, Canada <included in price>
Canadian taxes from customs $ 30 CDN
Brokerage fees $ 0 CDN
*Note on shipping and ETA
My experience with government delivery like USPS and Canada post tend to take around 2 to 3 days longer then UPS. But once again no outrageous brokerage fees.
I've contacted Dale Litton from wheelstandpro.us to let him know about the brokerage fee problem but he has informed me that UPS is their preferred carrier (brokerage fees can only be avoided with UPS if you ship via their air service). So my recommendation is for Canadian buyers to go with http://wheelstandpro.com/ till there are more reasonable options from the US website.
